COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to a smooth, chocolatey, semi-roasted ale that bridges the islands of porter and stout. And if you aren’t a fan of bridges, there’s always the canoe.

Can at RBSG. From notes. Chocolate and coffee but a thinner than expected texture. Regardless, I really like this one.

12 fl oz can via Piscator34. Pours a near opaque brown with a thick undulating mocha head. Aromas are subtle chocolate, coffee, and bark. Tastes of roasty malts and coffee. Medium body and carbonation, smooth and creamy on the palate with a medium bitter finish. Nice beer.

Pretty good stout. A touch too sweet for me personally, nevertheless solid. Good coffee and roastiness.

8/11/13 pint glass at Grandma's in Duluth. Black as midnight. Aroma malt and chocolate. Creamy head. Comes on strong and ends smooth. Strong flavor of dark roasted malt. Leaves pronounced foam rings with each drink. Good session beer for primarily cooler weather. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Pours black with big mocha colored head and lacing. Nose is roast and some chocolate. Chocolate comes through more in the taste. Lasting bitterness in the aftertaste.

Had at the 2013 St. Paul Summer Beer Fest, Nice malt and roasty notes, taste is roasted malt , might like it more than cold press, have to try cold press again

At tap at the MN State Fair. (unfortunately in a plastic glass...) Great dark color. Light enough for a hot day. Strong roast and bitterness. Awesome entry for this brewer.

Can. Pours a dark brown black color with a light tan head. Coffe roast and notes of chocolate in the nose, slight oatmeal note as well. Medium mouthfeel. Roast coffee bitterness upfront gives way to bitter chocolate flavor. Pretty smooth. Lingering bitter after taste. Drinkable.

Cam from Four Firkins. Pours black with a brown head leaving a lot of spots of lace. Aroma has dark chocolate, molasses, caramel and some roast. Taste is of sweet caramel, molasses, heavy roast and some bakers chocolate. Medium to full bodied with a touch of alcohol. Finishes more bitter than sweet on that bitter-sweet scale. A solid nice entre! 14.3

Pours black with a small tan head and some lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, and roasted malt with some bready notes. Medium body with little carbonation. Good, solid stout here.
