Nice looking, pouring a pale amber body with a frothy white head that does sheet lacing as you drink. It smells of caramel with a touch of toffee covered with tart oranges and tangerines. Very nicely balanced APA, the light citric bitterness matching the sweet malt evenly. Good sessionable material here.jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - MAY 5, 2006

From the tap, served in your standard bar pint glass. Made a good appearance, poured a clear golden hued amber with a foamy beige/off-white head that settled into a thin lacing, good carbonation. Had a big fresh hop nose, spicy, gorse and slightly herbal with a sweet pale maltiness. A crisp, hop textured and smooth light-ish medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Spicy gorse hoppiness, mild, but rolling on the tongue bitterness, a fighting to balance sweet maltiness and a dry tea and gorse flavors lingering in the palate finish.
Could be the best brew offered at Bent River, the dry-hopped pale ale is good too, well worth trying.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden color with thin white head. Flowery hop nose and flavor with thin body. Slightly sweet with some bitterness in the finish. So so. heemer77 (5361) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JAN 15, 2006
At the brewpub. The poured a dark ornage with a white head. The aroma had iced tea and oranges along with some toffee. The taste was dry with breadcrust and some grapefruit. The finsih was sweet, but the hops character increases as you drink. A decent pale ale.

This is a copper colored beer that produces a nice decent sized head. The aroma consists of hops and a mild hint of caramel in the background. The taste is a smooth sweet hoppy one that lingers well after swallowing. Braudog (6898) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JUN 2, 2005
Light amber or dark yellow with a filmy head. Medium bitterness, but ultimately this is a middle of the road pale ale. Dansting (222) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - MAR 17, 2005
Growler. Amber with one inch head. Light hoppy aroma. Malty with a bit of a citrusy-sweetness. Stron bitter finish. Better than expected. barleyPops (1183) - Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA - MAR 1, 2005
on tap at the brewpub. yellow-amber in color with a small near white head. a refreshing beer with a bit more pronounced hop flavor than some of their other brews, drywallman (368) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2005
A good solid pale ale, with long lasting head, good carbonation, a smooth moderate lasting malt phase, followed by a moderate to high hop phase and bite. A good session pale.
