Draft at the brewpub. I had a difficult time determining whether this beer was from a separate recipe or simply a barrel aged version of one of their other beers. I suspect the latter, probably a barrel aged version of the Steamboat Ale. Despite several attempts, nobody at the brewpub knew and the brewers weren’t around either when I visited or when I called the next day. Anyway, the beer poured a clear medium orange color. Head was paper thin and white. There was only scant lace left on the glass at then end. The nose was fruity with a bit of flowery hops and delicate whiffs of bourbon/vanilla. Dry and sharply carbonated on the tongue without any significant hop bitterness. Bourbon and vanilla were more prominent in the flavor and were accompanied by flowery hops. This combination made for a delicate, almost coconut-like flavor. The beer was on the thinner end of the spectrum. Pretty decent overall, though.
