UPDATED: DEC 27, 2006 On tap at the brewpub last night. $3.50 for a pint. Hazy orange pour with a small head. Aroma wasn’t too strong (maybe it’s just because I was at a smokey bar) but I picked up some sweet, citrusy notes. Nice smooth hoppy taste to it. Not too strong and decently balanced by some malt. This would be a good session beer. JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - AUG 19, 2007
Lightly hazed amber to light copper color. Smaller off-white head. Full fresh hops aromas with mild grapefruit and citric zest. Hints of pale malts in the background. LIght caramel start which is ushered aside by the fresh hops. Grapefruit with just a touch of light fruit. Some what light in feel, but not to overpowering to make it seem thin. fidelis83 (2523) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Pours a slightly hazy orange with a 1-2 finger, creamy, eggshell head that has decent retention. Aroma is citrus, light caramel, light fruit and a touch of biscuit. Flavor is bright citrus, caramel and toast, with a light melon-like fruitiness. Palate is fairly light bodied off dry and somewhat heavily carbonated. Nice, fresh citrus APA, good stuff. jcwattsrugger (12550) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 29, 2012
on tap-offwhite-hazy/cloudy gold/amber. A-pine, some sweet lt/med malt. T-pine/resin hops with some bite, some sweet lt/med malt. ARH (1138) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2014
On tap, poured into a shaker. The aroma is citrus and grassy. It pours a slightly hazy orange with a light, white head and small, thin bubbles. It doesn’t really retain very well with only a thin ring and clear surface. It has a runny lace and leaves a clean glass. The taste is a good balance between medium bitter and medium sweet. It’s texture is oily with a medium fizzy carbonation and a medium body. The finish is dry with a clean, resin and light citrus peel finish. The resin quality sticks around in the aftertaste briefly.

Growler. Nice head and cloudy. Similar appearance to most pale ales. Nice strong aroma. Flavor was a little disappointing considering how pleasant the aroma was. Not nearly as flavorful and hoppy as I expected (considering the previous reviews). Not horrible by any means, but not one of the better pale ales that I’ve had. Hand Bottled: Courtesy of Duane via trade. Bready and light pine aroma is somewhat weak. Pours a transparent orange with an insignificant white head that quickly becomes a soapy looking ring. Real light malt up front with a great pine hop finish. Very light caramel becomes noticeable as t warms. Aroma hurts the score a little, but obviousy it could have lost a little in the hand bottling process. Still a nice APA. heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JAN 15, 2006
On tap at the brewpub. The body was a slightly hazy medium orange. The aroma was soapy with orange soda. There was also grapefruit and banana peel. The taste had dry grapefruit rind with some toffee and grass. This is decent, but needs a little more body. BVery (11394) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - NOV 26, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2011 Tap at Bent River on Nov. 26, 2011. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Awesome citrus hop aroma and taste. Good balance. Really nice beer. jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - OCT 22, 2013
