Draft - Molasses, oatmeal and lots of toast. Deep maroon with almost no head. Sweet dark fruit, raisin and a sweet finish. Fruity and almost too sweet, but interesting. Tmoney99 (14948) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 29, 2011
Draft sample. Poured a black color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Full and frothy, lip smacking with some sweet oats and some bready, malty and dry notes, good sweet roast flavor, with a doughy, chewy mouthfeel. Good stuff.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2010 Have had on tap many times at Bent River, and this is one of my favorites, and is my fiancee’s absolute favorite. Great coffee and chocolate notes, a creamy mouthfeel, and an all around great beer. radagast83 (8446) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - AUG 11, 2012
4oz sampler at the Bent River brewpub. Poured a close-to-black color with a small tan head. Aroma had plenty of chocolate malts, with some grain and oat characters, some cereal. Flavor was nice and chocolate, with oat-grain notes. This was pretty enjoyable. I enjoyed the palate a bit more with this one over the Uncommon Stout. On tap at Bent River Rock Island. Black appearance with a tan head. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, molasses, coffee, oats and roast. Similar flavor, kind of sweet, but kind of weird in a way too. Medium plus body. OK.
