2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2013 Bottle poured mahogany brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Mouthfeel was a bit thin for a stout compared to most. Decent beer but I?d say average for the category.
Dark black. No head. Gross. This is uncommonly bad. Bad acidic coffee. Drain pour. Bif (2394) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - OCT 3, 2017
Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roast malt and bit of oatmeal. Taste of coffee and roasted malt. A tart bitterness that lingers into the finish. Medium body, overly tart, and not really enjoyable. AirForceHops (8037) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 2, 2017
Draft, 4 ounce sample glass Growler USA, Omaha. It smelled good; light oatmeal, mild coffee. The problem was that it had a sour note in the finish. Tasted like it was going sour. The good people at Growler USA did not charge me for the sample. I will re-rate if I ever see it again. fidemaster (336) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - JUN 29, 2017
Its very interesting. Aroma is fresh brewed coffee. Black appearance. I would call this a Sour Stout. Its fresh coffee with a sharp, tart, tang of a sour. Its interesting. Scipio (1275) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - APR 26, 2017
Pours an oily black with a medium, dark tan head that steadily fades. The aroma contains heavier coffee and roasted malts, chocolate, and some mild smoke. The taste is dry and is a little sweet. While still being potent in coffee, I now get a strong chocolate flavor to balance it. Undertones consist of roasted malts, caramel, nuts, and cherry. The cherry is most pronounced at the end of the sip, making up a short and sharp aftertaste. This one is medium in body, with a creamy texture, and with soft carbonation. A pretty solid offering overall.

12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass at home, displaying a black/brown/hue with some ruby highlighting noticed during the pour, persistent, brownish tan froth, and wavy ribbons and spots of lacing. The nose was malty, roasted, coffee, nutty chocolate bar, light woodiness and a little char, with blueberry playing a secondary, but noticeable role. Medium bodied, with initially lively carbonation, berry tartness & tanginess were dominant in the flavor, with a touch of sweetness, and Stout characteristics that diminished almost altogether, as though I was offered a Sour for the tasting phase. Tart astringency finished the deal. Confusing, if you’re concerned about the style, but actually, rather tasty otherwise. KevinReddirt (238) - Midland, Texas, USA - DEC 27, 2016
Obtained in a 12 oz. bottle. It delivers a dark chocolate brown body with a dark tan head, fairly low carbonation. It definitely smells and tastes of coffee. Burnt oak flavor on the tongue and I also get molasses along with a touch of sweetness. It gets better as you go along. It appears I am spoiled by imperial stouts and my ventures into regulars or oatmeals do not go well. My bottle was labeled as having 5.4% ABV. No hint of it. I think it would be better at the listed 6.5% csaso (2362) - Missouri, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Bottle - bog tan foamy head, black color, big roasted coffee aroma and flavor, definitely on the bitter side (more from the coffee than the hops it seems, and not in a good way), if you are a coffee person you will probably like this, I am not a coffee person myself, so it’s only OK in my book HuskerTan (2451) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - OCT 20, 2016
A- Coffee, chocolate sauce, slightly sweet.

T- Coffee, roasty, cream, slightly sweet, subtle cocoa.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly sweet finish.
O- Grabbed this bottle with no knowledge of the brewery or beer. I was pleasantly surprised with the liquid inside. A very balanced and tasty coffee beer. Maybe a touch thin on the body, but overall good. ozzy70 (1334) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 4, 2016
