Bruce’s Birthday Bash at the Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Colin and his dad! Clear dark red- brown beer, residual pale tan head. Light dry palate. Trace of paint, a little apple. Light dark malt. Bitterish dark malt. Dry finish. Messy!
Bottled at Black Sheep, Dublin. Near opaque black, small creamy head. Aroma of red berries and earth. Mid sweet with soft mouthfeel and mediu mbody. Rich and full flavoured. Fruity with some strawberry esters and earthy licorice, notes of yeast. Mid bitter finish. Rustic and complex with some flaws but a great array of flavours. Bottle shared at Bruce’s 30th Birthday Bash - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Colin. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Tosty dark malt nose, some dirt in there. Light to medium sweet flavor with dirt, burnt meat, dark toast and milk chocolate. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry finish with earth and cocoa. OK. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head.
Nose is dark fruits, dark malts, light chocolate, molasses.
Taste follows - dark fruits at the fore, raisens, chocolate.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish.

Bottle, thanks to Colin. It pours deep brown with a small light tan head. The nose is roasty, cooking chocolate, caramel, toffee and earth. The taste is roasted malt, light toast, soft caramel, faint saltiness and burnt malt with a dry finish. Smooth and easy drinking, but pretty so-so really.

Pours dark brown with thin bubbly tan head. Chocolate on the nose.
A complex and mouth-filling porter with smoke, chocolate, coffee, a touch of roast barley in the finish. Just how I like my porters.

Fluffy tan head, chocolate, some vanilla, complex malt, rich red fruit, dry but light body, low carbonation but well handled conditioning, touch of diacetyl works ok here, v enjoyable
