Bought the bottle straight from the brewery/pub. Drank it at 55 degree apx. Medium body, big tan head that persisted throughout. Chocolate and coffee with an earthy and smoky backend. Very nice.

From 330 ml bottle bought in Abbott Ale House in Cork. Look: Black. Brown head fading fast Nose: medium full nutty?/coffee/smoke Taste: carbonation: mild starts very nice coffee-ish, medium body, fairly dry, nutty/malty, slight smoky finish lingering, cracking stuff!

50 cl bottle bought at Ireland’s best garage for beer, in Killarney. Taken home to enjoy. My fourth - all sourced from western Ireland. This is the best porter made currently in Ireland, which all should emulate. Otherwise the usual delightful mishmash of lanolin, peach blossom, tarmac and toothpaste that marks a great porter. No, you’re right, that’s twaddle. Only joking. But it’s great - not joking.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2013 cask at Dublin RDS for Irish Craft Beer Fest.
Pours dark brown with thin bubbly tan head. Chocolate on the nose. A complex and mouth-filling porter with smoke, chocolate, coffee, a touch of roast barley in the finish. Just how I like my porters.

Cask at the Franciscan Well Easter Festival. Pours a jet black, with a bubbly tan head. Terrific aroma of milk, oak, banana, toffee, toasted nuts. Medium sweetness with bitter, sour and salty hints. Very milky with notes of brazil nut, toffee and berries. Smoky finish, slightly sour. Beautifully complex, a must for any dark beer lover.

Bottle shared with northropfye, while watching hurling on the TV at a pub in Dingle. Nice dark body, with brown head. Roasty aroma and flavour. A very enjoyable porter. I liked it.

700ml bottle, off the shelf, Doyles, Dingle. Deep Brown Black pour, thin mocha head. Intense coffee nose, milk chocolate, some resin, rubber. Flavour follows the nose, coffee dominates, liquorice, aniseed, some understated hop background. Slick, oily palette, full body. Finish is not overly long, but nicely balanced.
