Nice chocolate and coffee aroma, beautiful colour and a bit taste of smoke and roasted coffee. Very nice dark beer for relax with book or so :)

50 cl bottle bought at Irelandís best garage for beer, in Killarney. Taken home to enjoy. My fourth - all sourced from western Ireland. This is the best porter made currently in Ireland, which all should emulate. Otherwise the usual delightful mishmash of lanolin, peach blossom, tarmac and toothpaste that marks a great porter. No, youíre right, thatís twaddle. Only joking. But itís great - not joking.

Bottle sample at a tasting, thanks Tom. Pours brown with reddish hues and huge head. Smell of caramel, chocolate, soap, a bit green. Sweetis, flavors of coffee, herbs, smoked malt, bitter finish. Medium-bodied, over-carbonated.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel, Tel Aviv. Thanks Tom L. Opaque brown with big brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, dried fruits, carob and jojoba. Sweetish flavor with notes of herbs, carob, jojoba, some coffee, roasted malt and and cherry. Too carbonated, medium to full-bodied.

At a tasting, thanks, small creamy bubbly beige head, dark brown color, aroma of toasted dark bread, banana, yeast and plaster, flavor of yeast with coal and dark bread. Much too yeasty and not too good.

Bottle. Black with tan head. Aroma of over ripe banana, faint chocolate and smoke. Taste is smokey, burnt, yeast, chocolate. Bit weird

Padchenko (320) - Dublin, IRELAND - SEP 8, 2015
Pours black with a very small brown head. Medium carbonation. Very roasty hoppy flavour with some limited bitterness in the mouth and in the finish but that is offset by a sweetness thatís also present. Very nice

triskaideka (369) - Killarney, IRELAND - DEC 22, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2015 bottle at home - poured black with tan/beige head - not long lasting. Aroma - coffee, chocolate. Medium to full bodied - coffee and chocolate notes in taste - moderate bitterness. Pretty good - enjoyed this a lot Revisited Mar 15

Farbe ist klassisch-dunkel mit beiger, dicker Schaumkrone. Wunderbares trockenes Schokoladen-/Kaffeearoma, keine besonders starke SŁŖe, schwacher Holzkohlegeruch. Geschmack leicht rauchig mit einem Anflug von Aschenbecher, relativ trocken: Kohle, Erde, starker Kaffee. Schokoladennote kommt leider nicht mehr so zum Tragen.
