COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A fitting tribute to Finn, a character famed for his hospitality brought to life in the story of Beowulf. Our porter is as it should be: inviting, dark, and smoky, hoppy and not too sweet. The kind of ale that invites one to linger.

Bottle at Bruce’s Housewarming Party Tasting, London. Pours clear brown with a tight, beige foam head. Dusty, dry cocoa aroma with some dirt and faint dates. Light sweet flavor with dry cocoa, faint minerals, moderate roast, faint rubber. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Dry finish with burnt toast, dusty baking cocoa, light sweetness. OK. Not very exciting, but OK.

Bottle at home, from Tamworth BF via SP I think, 21/01/13.
Very dark mahogony brown approaching black with a thin tan head that soon collapses to a puddle.
Nose is dark lightly roasted malt, molasses, light chocolate, some jammy fruits in the background.
Taste follows, light paper/cardboard, touch of dark fruits, some chocolate.
Medium bodied but on the thin side, moderate carbonation, slightly dry finish.
Drinkable, started off not being into this and had it at a distinctly average 3 but it grew on me a little.
