Dark brown-ruby color, good steady brownish head. Cardboard, date cake in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Date, spaced cake, cinnamon, "pepperkaka". Decent. Doesn’t feel like 9%.
Bottle. It pours an oily, very dark brown body, clear, with a finger-thick beige head collapsing rather quicly. Molasses-sweet nose with hints of alc, dried fruits, roasted malts, a faint note of licorice and some caramel. Full-bodied and sweet, quite warming. Sweet, roasted flavor with some dried fruits and caramel. Licorice in the background. Lasting warming finish with roasted malts and lots of dark sugar. A beer that needs some time to finish, but it’s tasteful and smooth, although you need to like alcohol warmth to appreciate it. Some nuts and/or cheese is a nice companion for this one. 091122
