(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany with a warm, reddish hue and a creamy, brownish head. Very hard roasted - almost burned - aroma. Nice body dominated by bitter, burned malt. A surprising stylistic choice for a Norwegian Christmas beer, but certainly an excellent one. 030106 chrisv10 (18226) - DENMARK - FEB 29, 2016

Dark ruby brown, small tan head. Crisp, papery malty, slightly roasted nose. Burnt sugary, syrupy, quite industrial Christmas drink.
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2007 Bottled. Unfortunately in a clear bottle. Thats probably due to Berentsens future as a soda producer, with beer only added the last year. Dark brown beer with a decent tan head. Roasted aroma. Something in the aroma reminds me of a room that people has been smoking in for years, but not in an unpleasant way. Coffee, chocolate and hop bitterness in flavor. Medium body with a moderate bitterness in the finish. Berentsens second attempt for a non-lager beer, and hopefully not their last. (051124) MiP (15960) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 11, 2006
Bottle. Aroma is malty with some notes of roast barley. Very dark brown colour with a little red. Semi-stable light brown head. Quite powerful liquorice flavour and aftertaste. Aftertaste is also dusty. Reminds of slightly weak Baltic porter (which it turned out to be). Semi-low carbonation. Nice.
