A superb stout, well balanced and with a lingering aftertaste without being overwhelming on the palate. StoreMy (29) - Nesttun, NORWAY - JAN 18, 2011
Sigmund (7390) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 26, 2008
Specially brewed for the World Championship of Sheep Shearing 2008 (no kidding!). Sampled on tap at Gladmatfestivalen, Stavanger. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Lasting creamy tan head. Pleasant roasty aroma and flavour, fairly dry, with a slight acidity in the finish. A quite nice stout this one. gunnar (9019) - Sandnes, NORWAY - FEB 17, 2009
On tap at the brewery 03.10.2008.
Pours almost black with a big beige head.
Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and liquorice. Tastes sweet and spicy and the liquorice lurks in the background. Like it ErikTheViking (76) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 23, 2009
7 April 2009. Tap at Cardinal. This was a large surprise. Black, with delicious brown head. Almost like the favourite Guiness. A bit more alcohol and a bit more carbonized. Very smooth, with a roasted aftertaste.

Bottle from Berentsens Brygghus, Egersund. A well balanced, local produced stout, and one of the only stouts available in supermarkets in (western) Norway. PsychoGunnar (201) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 12, 2014
Attractive, slightly burned stout with a lot of malty bitterness (?) Tastes of coffee, soy, fizz and ruccola; nice sticky bittertaste in the tail. Berentsen are either very good at making complex-tasting low alcoholic beers, or they are good at lying at their labels. tarjei (1954) - Bryne, NORWAY - SEP 24, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2009 Tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. The color is black. Nice creamy, tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruit with hints of sourness. The flavor is most of all roasted, but also smoke. The dark fruit is there too, and the sourness makes this a different, interesting end very fine stout. The bottle version is also very nice. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2008
Bottle. A black beer with a small, firm beige head. Roasted, or maybe rather burnt aroma with some notes of dried fruits and coffee. A little touch of coffee too. Thin in the mouth, after all it’s just 4.7% ABV, and rather dry and silky. Still it’s giving a sweet impression, especially in the finish, along with coffee, burnt malt and a touch of chocolate and dried fruits. The finish has a nice burnt bitterness with little evidence of hops. A pleasant, quaffable and well-tasting example of the species. (081214) Holmen1 (5839) - Stavanger, NORWAY - APR 23, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2012 330 ml bottle. Pours with a creamy tan head. Almost black with a delicious balance of dark roast coffee, some caramel and oats. Soft mouthfeel and very satisfying aftertaste. A great stout at 4,7%.
