For decades Berg Original has been our main beer brand. It has had many names before (Lager, Helles, Export). The yellow color in the label remained unchanged though and eventually turned gold. Therefore many friends of Berg beer call it "the yellow one". In the pub, the inn and on many festivities the "half liter" is Berg beer. It is the synonym for the fine, traditional way of brewing.

Flasche 50cl. Hopfung Tradition und Herkules. Herkules? Hochalphasorte? Insgesamt unauffälliges, nichtssagendes Helles aus den Tiefen der Belanglosigkeit. Schade, hatte mehr erwartet.

King_Alex_II (1228) - SWITZERLAND - JUL 3, 2016
Very thin pale yellow color with foam ring. Malty nose. Watery and afterward a standard sweet and malty lager. Standard lager aftertaste.

Ritzn (1311) - GERMANY - JUN 29, 2016
Watery clear yellow with no head. Aroma is musty hops, cooked vegetables, soap. Taste is sour, butter and normal helles bitterness. Easy to drink. Overalk still bad.

SinH4 (4708) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - JUN 28, 2016
Bottle. Straw color with white head. Aroma is tart haribo, kidney beans (DMS), corn, grainy. Taste is more grains and straw. Crisp. Meh.

jfb (6229) - GERMANY - JUN 28, 2016
(bottle) clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of powdered sugar and cooked beans, with a light touch of pale malts and grass. flavour is mostly salted popcorn and kidney beans, with a hint of nachos, some more yeast and a semi-dry finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Pale golden, white head. Crisp hops, fresh hays malt. Chewy sparkly body. Fresh, well balanced, perhaps a bit more of a Pils than a Helles. Nice well balanced.

BeerandBlues2 (13202) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 13, 2016
Tap. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, long retention with light lacing. Aroma is Pils malt and earthy hops. Flavor is crisp Pils malt, light earthy hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

DrNosha (2277) - Württemberg, Germany, GERMANY - OCT 27, 2015
0,33l Bügelflasche. Goldgelbes Bier mit irdentlichem Schaum. Duft recht neutral. Etwas Getreide. Geschmack leider auch recht flach. Wenig herb.

bartlebier (3946) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAR 4, 2014
50cl bottle, Edeka somewhere in BW’s fields. Easy drinking, slightly sweet/lieblich mash-inflected BW Helles with no flaws, nor any prominent hop characteristics. Tastes as if bottom-fermented to the degree zero essentials over the ages. A "half liter" of the "yellow one" will go down as innocuously as a lonely stroll over the Alb, - the most prominent taste being that of your accompanying mood.

Beerhunter111 (20337) - P´Castle, GERMANY - JAN 30, 2014
Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, leicht würzig. Geschmack angenehm malzig würzig, minimale Bitterkeit.
