Brauerei Berghammer from Oberndorf has a Kupfer [copper] beer, which says it’s unfiltriert and naturtrüb [unfiltered] & [naturally cloudy].
It’s a dirty white, vanilla-colored head under a red-brown-orange beer, dark copper. Aroma is all malt, caramel, Münchner of course with a hint of bitterness behind it. The initial flavor is sweet and bitter simultaneously. It’s sweetness is a pure roasted barley maltiness around the back and front of the tongue, with a slight sourness added in the back, too. I get bitterness on the front and sides. It’s got the same not-too-thick, not-too-thin mouthfeel of the Winkler Kupfer. To tell the truth, I can’t distinguish the Winkler from the Berghammer Kupfer. This one is slightly bitterer and leaves a bitter, slightly sour aftertaste. Overall, a really good beer, and again, I wouldn’t travel to get it, or order a lot of it online, but if I were in the area, I’d love to try it fresh on tap. jonas (7583) - Garching b. Bottle, thanks pivnizub.
Clear dark copper with a few floaties, impressive golden foam. Aromatic hop nose.
Citric and dry grassy entry, toasted bread. Dry hop mouthfeel, citric exhaling. Medium bozy fizzly mouthfeel. Nice! pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUL 18, 2008
Bügelverschlußflasche (purchased at the Brauereigasthof): Slightly hazy, amber - not copper - coloured, extremely stable, rocky beige head; grassy hoppy nose with a barnyardy background and a tinge of roasted malt; solid bitter-sweet flavour, soft F, light to medium bodied; lingering hoppy finish, balanced by sweet caramel and a tinge of yeast. Tastes far better than it smells........ shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 18, 2010
Swing-top bottle. Toffee malt and hay/light barnyard aroma - very nice. Slightly hazy dark amber color with large head. Sweet toffee malt and moderately bitter grass/fresh hay hops. Mild cola aftertaste. An excellent dunkel. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - DEC 12, 2010
Bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass dark, modest turbid, nice head. Starts strong, malty fruity, modest dry, a bit floury, but that get better in the finish. Well balanced, warming, quite drinkable. Really nice!

(swing top bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and persistent light-beige foamy head. Light-sweet and slightly yeasty toast-malty aroma, slightly leafy with caramel, rounded up with spicy herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour, quite slim for an abv of 5.6% but it is never watery, crispy on the tongue. Toasty malty taste with caramel and balanced herbal hoppy flavours; dry, slightly toasted and moderately bitter finish with pleasant herbal and slightly spicy hoppy notes. Not too fat, but well rounded hoppy Dunkel (08.05.08). KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 23, 2013
Bottle in Bavaria.
Malty aroma. Hazy red/brown. Bittersett, malty. Some burned sugar. Rich, smooth, a nice little bite in the tail. Worth seeking out. Beerhunter111 (20482) - P´Castle, GERMANY - JUN 25, 2015

bottle, traded with pivnizub - díky! Hazy amber colour, large and creamy head. Full-bodied, very spicy with flavours of malt and intensive hoppy flavours. Shy hints of caramel and roasetd malt. Quite hoppy for a Dunkel. daniele (9063) - ITALY - APR 29, 2009
