PotjeBier (3346) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2012
33 cl (from De Bierkoning) @ home. Almost black color. Head is mocha colored, firm, and quit long lasting, with some lacing. Aroma’s: roasted malt, ground coffee, a hint of ash and some fruit. Flavor is slightly sweet, roasted, a hint of acidity. Body is thin (well, at 4%), but not watery. Finishes with ash, some bitterness and maybe some warmth in the throat. Nice.

Mooie zwarte kleur met een volle lichtbruine kraag. Ruikt koffie, vanille, peper, vanille. Smaakt vol, vanille, crème, peper, koffie. Iets dun.

Lore (2746) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 19, 2016
dark brown colour, large, though not too dense and quickly disappearing beige head; aroma and taste of some sourness, cocoa, minimal dried fruitiness (mainly sour cherry), some toasted rye bread and nomthing really chili-like...average porter, or even below the average...I’m not impressed at all - this glass goes to my wife :-)

0,33l fles uitgeschonken zwart met een crème kraag. Geur en smaak liggen in de droge koffie, bittertje, nootachtig. Tikkeltje dun maat toch met een aangename nasmaak.

33cl bottle Appearance:Black with a large tanned head , but with poorr retenttion and not much lacing. Aroma: Coffee, vegetables, roasted malts, ash Taste: tQuite some vegetables but misses the spiceyness of the chili’s thin roasted malts in the back and a hint of coffee. High carbonation, too thin body for a porter. This last + the to high carbonation is a bit of a deal breaker. I was dissapointed by this, Because not much of a porter and not much Chili’s. More a regulare vegetable brew.

Abijen (2571) - ’s-Hertogenbosch, NETHERLANDS - JUL 12, 2014
Pours a dark brown cola ish beer with a good tan head. Smells chocolate, roasted. Tastes watery, malts, roasted and a very very very little pepper on the end. Average carbo, thin body and a dry texture.

The chili porters I have had so far were all incredibly hot and spicy. Other than that a good porter, lot of liquorice. Great looking beer too. Nice. From De Bierkoning.

Bottle thanks to Bierkoning. Dark brown, almost black colour with a wonderful tan head. Nice aroma of chocolat and roasted malts with a chili hint. Taste is soft roasted malts, mild coffee and sweet chocolat. Smooth carbonation, decent body. Nice long chocolat aftertaste.

WillemsUrenkel (1874) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - DEC 24, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 0,33 l bottle. Nearly black in the glass and nearly no head. Dark Chocolate and coffee on the nose. Starts the same, light floral background, definitive not a sweet porter. Hints of chili are discreet, more a minimal spicy and salty sourness, in the aftertaste. Certainly not a beer for everyday, but interesting.

mmahut (1859) - CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 10, 2014
Bottle. Dark body, medium creamy tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, toasty nose, little bit of tabacco ash. Taste has high roasty bitterness, very little chilli in the after taste, almost not noticiable. Medium acidic sweetness in the finish. Body is medium, flat carbonation. The chilli is hidden.
