330ml bottle while watching I, Daniel Blake. From trade with MonsterMagnet. Many thanks chap! Pours a hazed amber, good white head. Nice smoked ham in the aroma. Taste has a nice smoked character with a well-integrated soft, earthy nuttiness from the rye, some fruity marmalade hints. Can’t detect much Whisky influence at all, but still a nice smoked beer.

Drank with Bram while watching Narcos 02-08-17. Very good for the abv. Subtle smoke. Full body, rich taste. Soft.

Bottle from a bottle swap, thanks Monster Magnet!

Very nice delicate smokiness. Taste is round and smooth with some smokiness and funk in the finish. I have to say that it’s a very good beer

Danke an Beerhunter111. Stark karbonisierter, würzig herber Antrunk. Mild würzig, leider etwas alkoholisch. Spritzig, hefig, rund bitter, würzig. Okay. 10/10/9/9//9

33cl bottle. Leicht trübes orange goldenes Bier mit einer großen weißen schaumkrone. Geruch ist mild süß malzig, rauchig, Schinken. Geschmack ist verhalten, kräftig malzig, rotes malz, Karamell, alkoholisch.

Light copper color with freah hops with slight buttery nose. Taste follows noise, slight butter is bit disturbing.

[Euro Beer Swap thanks to MonsterMagnet] High carbonation, hazy amber color, big white froathy head, nose is full of berries, fruits, sweet notes, a hint of smoke and wood. Taste is much less entertaining: boozy, smoked without much going on. Medium body, a bit tartness, woody tannins, nothing more.

Bottle. Hazy golden pour. Aroma has soft bacony peat, yeast, orange fruit, mild smoke and caramel. Taste has orange zest, mild bacon, soft smoke, yeast, buttery caramel and subtle spicey peat in the finish. Quite elegant and tasty.

Bottle, pours dark golden with a large white head. Smokey aroma with meaty smoke, light peaty notes and a nice sweet maltiness. Taste follows with sweet stone fruit (peach, apricot), the rye coming through while mainting the smokey notes. Sweet-ish, with a moderate bitterness, creamy, and a good body. Despite all the meat & peat descriptions it’s really very well balanced. I should revisit the base beer...

PotjeBier (3460) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 21, 2017
33 cl bottle from the brewery’s webshop @ home. Hazy orange/amber color. Almost white head, somewhat sticky & frothy. Aroma’s of smoked malts, light fruit. Retronasal it’s fruity, light smoke, light sweet, light alcohol. Flavor is light to moderate sweet, light fruity, a bit alcohol. Alcohol feels stronger than 6% (and probably is). Medium bodied. Finish is slightly dry, light bitter, tannines. It’s definitely different from the base beer, but apart from the finish I don’t get much barrel. Nice nonetheless.
