Specially brewed for the Ratebeer European Summer Gathering 2013 in The Netherlands. Organisation by Joes, Benzai, Martinus and Dutchdrebus. IPA / Orange Pale Ale brewed with El Dorado and Cascade.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2013 1/XI/13 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: IV/2015 (2013-1021) Thanks to Tinus for the bottle!

Little cloudy red orange beer, irregular yellow head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet honey, malty, sugary, strawberry jam, apricot, pineapple. Mf: ok carbon carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, honey, some pineapple, mango, bitter hops, citrus, bit piny. Aftertaste: resinous bitterness, some strawberry jam, malts, some honey, passion fruit, caramel ending. Lovely beer, I like it a lot!

Thanks to Tim for sharing! Pours an brilliant orangish color with a lush tan head. The smell is rich caramel malt, fruit...pineapple, some citrus. Taste is rich caramel malt, honey, crisp fruit, lemon, pine ending crisp and a bit bitter. The carbonation is elegant and the body I’d medium and soft. A really nice beer!

I really hope this beer will stay as a standard Berghoeve beer. When the huge foam head is gone great flavor with bitterness and spices remains. Longlasting aftertaste. Great beer. Bottle from Burg Bieren.

Bottle 330 ml at home, from trade with Benzai, thanks! Poured into a tulip glass, ABV 6.9% The bottle opens with a loud pop and pours a very deeporange/brown beer, with a huge off-white head. Very good retention and thick lacing left on the glass as the foam finally collapsed. Aroma is full of citrus fruits, orange, caramel malts. Taste is bitter and it becomes even more bitter on the aftertaste, with good, long duration.Lots of citrus fruits again, grapefruit, orange zest, hint of malts. Great! Medium thin body, nice carbonation and very dry palate. Overall a great IPA, one of the best dutch ones I have had.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge orabgey head. The aroma has notes of oranges and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of oranges, spicy hops, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge off white head. Aroma is citrusy, peachy and mango fruity. Crisp fruity, light phenolic and citrusy to grapefruity hoppy. Smooth fruity finish.

TrefwoordPunk (1289) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 14, 2013
Bottle 33 cl. Pours a brownish red with a medium, partly fading off-white head and an aroma that’s dominated by orange, also notes of lemon, syrup, caramel, fresh hops, liquor and cider. The taste is surprisingly sweet compared to the aroma, but not overly sweet. Lots of fresh fruity notes and a nice long hoppy bitterness in the finish. A really nice new beer, I can only hope it stays in the Berghoeve assortment!
