COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Specially brewed for the Ratebeer European Summer Gathering 2013 in The Netherlands. Organisation by Joes, Benzai, Martinus and Dutchdrebus. IPA / Orange Pale Ale brewed with El Dorado and Cascade.

hazy orange to amber colour, huge. dense and long lasting yellowish head; aroma of tropical fruits (mango), tangerine, biscuits, caramel and vegetable notes (celery); taste is rather sweet than bitter with tropical fruits, carmel and some vegetables; spicy-peppery notes in the aftertaste; great IPA!

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2013 1/XI/13 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: IV/2015 (2013-1021) Thanks to Tinus for the bottle!

Little cloudy red orange beer, irregular yellow head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet honey, malty, sugary, strawberry jam, apricot, pineapple. Mf: ok carbon carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, honey, some pineapple, mango, bitter hops, citrus, bit piny. Aftertaste: resinous bitterness, some strawberry jam, malts, some honey, passion fruit, caramel ending. Lovely beer, I like it a lot!

Bottle @ RBESG. Official opening. Thanks a great lot to Jurgen and Geralda from Berghoeve for brewing this beer especially for this occasion. Clear orange to amber color, small to medium sized white head. Smell malts, fruityness, grapefruit. Taste malts, hops, grapefruit, bitter, just lovely.

Bottle @ home. Deep orange/amber colour with a big beige head. Smells quite fruity, hoppy, fresh.. Just how I like this type of beer. Tastes quite bitter, fresh, quite hoppy, slightly fruity. Pretty straightforward but nice. Medium body, nice carbo. Great summer beer!

Pours a nice orange brownish unclear beer with a good white head. Smells like orange. Really love the taste. Very nice bitter and nice orange taste. Good average carbo and a good dry texture. Excellent beer.

Purchased @ De Molen. As the label says: “Brewed for Ratebeer European Summer Gathering 2013”. Very cool initiative, thx! to everyone who organized RBESG & arranged this beer getting made and the brewers. Very fresh, 3 days past release. Murky brownish, light touch of fox amber, off-white head. Nose is very hoppy, earthly, lots of earthly fruits & some tropical ones as well, dried orange peel, grapefruit & touch caramel. Taste is bitter earth, dried mandarin & orange peel, harsh earthly caramel, fruity, very bitter pine needles, nicely harsh. The bitterness lingers. Full malty body. Very straightforward & simple. Very nice but could use something to really make it pop, great brew but with something this could have been something really special it just feels. First batch is limited to 299 bottles. I need more very fresh IPA’s.

Bottle thanks to Benzai! Pours a dark amber coloured beer, slightly hazy, with a very nice lasting beige head. Great aroma of fruits like mango, pineapple and lychee. Taste is good as well, fruity hops again, bit of pepper, good bitterness as well as fruity sweetness. Decent body, nice high carbo. Berghoeve’s best so far I guess! This should definitely stay in its assortment.

Thanks to bierkoning for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Fine hoppy aroma. Starts strong hoppy and interesting fruity like orange and grapefruit. Mild sourish notes. Finish drier, less fruity, more bitter. Great one!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a brownish red with a medium, partly fading off-white head and an aroma that’s dominated by orange, also notes of lemon, syrup, caramel, fresh hops, liquor and cider. The taste is surprisingly sweet compared to the aroma, but not overly sweet. Lots of fresh fruity notes and a nice long hoppy bitterness in the finish. A really nice new beer, I can only hope it stays in the Berghoeve assortment!

Very bitter, delicious. Warming alcohol end, sharp hops, very nice. Rich palate, lasting ending. Not refined. Modern hops, citrus, pale but abundant malts. Looks great, smells great, tastes amazing. Impressive brew! (33cl from trade with Edo, thanks!)
