Bottle received in the local European swap, thanks to bierkoning. Black with a medium sized light brown head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Minerals, dark wood, red wine and honey in the nose. Flavour has minerals, wood, dust, dry red wine and salty licorice. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium/heavy sweet and bitter. Soft and well balanced.

(Berghoeve Tsjuster Red Wine Barrel Aged) Bottle 330ml at home, served into a tulip, ABV 10% Black coloured body, small but thick brown head on top, with good retention. Aroma has wine notes, wood, roasted malts, not the fruity character of a black IPA. Taste has wood, grapes, a touch of sourness on it, wine notes, roasted malts, again it doesn’t bring a bipa to mind. Medium body, good carbonation. Good one.

Billynomates solo hotel tasting. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and fairly crisp. Mellow dark malts, a touch of dark chocolate. Spicy mid, spicy alcohol - vodka like. Spirity red wine. Spicy red berries. Smooth finish brings a trace of caramel. Subtle this one isn’t. Big and bold.

33 cl bottle @ home, provided by bierkoning, thanks Edo! Opens with a loud pscht. Black color. Light brown head with short retention. Aroma’s: light tar, roast, drop/licorice, ever so slightly vinous. Retronasal there’s drop, some wood, tannines, light tar, light sour. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, light sour/vinous, , light umami. Pretty strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Finish is a bit bitter and woody. Complex, very nice!

Bottle. Pours a pitch black beer with a quickly diminishing tanned bubbly head. Settles quickly into a small ring. Aroma of wine wood, red fruits, slight roasty notes, light citric hops. Flavor is bittersweet, loads of black malty notes, deep barrel characters and light tannins as well. The hops aren’t all that present, just some light bitterness alongside a decent barrel character and stout notes. Enjoyable to drink, long cloying sweet finish. Decent stuff.

Dunkel malziger Antrunk, rund hopfiger Hintergrund. Die Hopfigkeit steigt dabei an, milde Herbe, vollmundig. Süßlich erdig im Mittelteil, erstaunlich süffig. 10/11/11/11/9/11
