From the bottle. An unexpected aroma & flavour: roasted, hop, some red fruit, the malty sweetness from an imp IPA, which you don’t expect from a black IPA. Great!

33 cl bottle. BBE 03/2017.
Pours pitch black color with a large beige head. Quite strong roasted, burnt, even ashy notes on the aroma, dark malts, subtle dark berries, hints of coffee, hops and some citric fruity tones, subtle chocolate on the background. Chocolaty flavor, roasted malts, licorice, strong hop bitterness. The flavor reminds me of Nøgne Ø IS with it’s roastiness. Full-bodied, creamy mouthfeel. There’s something slightly off on the aroma but the flavor is very pleasant and tasty. A positive surprise definitely.

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, citrus fruits, hops, and bread, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle in the sunshine at 2:00 pm on a Sunday. FTW! Pours black with a frothy, tan head. The high abv is quite evident in the aroma, also dark chocolate and sweet berry. Great palate, rich and heavy with a monster bitter finish. Flavour is heavy on the burnt bitterness, long finish. There is nothing here I don’t like.

Full bodied beer, with cherries, coffee, roasted maltschocolate and forest fruits. Quite some sweetnes from the malts but balanced by bitterness. Very enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Stor smag af alt det der skal være i en stout, fint med humlen der afrunder en hæftig øl.

330 ml bottle from my EU Secret Santa, thanks!
Black body, with a big, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, some coffee, tropical fruits, orange.
Tastes of chocolate, coffee, biscuit, citrus, orange, some tropical fruits, some vanilla, alcohol.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes alcohol warming, roasty, moderate dry, a bit sweet, zesty, a bit fruity, with coffee, chocolate, cocoa, wood, some liquorice.

Tasty. The hops are a bit more in the background, but providing pretty tropical fruit notes. Although alcoholic, very smooth overall, because of quite a lot of dark malty layers. Characterful BIPA how I like it.
