Bottle, trade with Bierkoning, huge thanx! Barva: hnědočerná s rubínovou jiskrou, kalná. Pěna: řidší, nedržící. Vůně: lahodná kávově karamelová. Chuť: výborné silné ale s vyváženou chutí, středně až více hořké, sladový střed a nádherná chmelová koncovka. Přestože jde o silné pivo, alkohol cítit nejde. Chutný kousek.

Tasting glass at Proeflokaal MOUT. Appearance: ruby red with medium off-white head. Aroma: raisins, dark malts, dark fruits, brown sugar. Taste: high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of brown sugar, dark fruits and raisins. Palate: medium bodied, sticky texture and soft carbonation. Not really distinct in the aroma and taste.

At a tasting, thanks, almost no head, murky lightish brown color, aroma of nut, wood and caramel, quite sweet nut and caramel flavor with a pleasant balancing dried fruit sourness. Not too complex but nice and enjoyable.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks tomer. 2015 bottle. Brown. Malt, caramel, oxidation, dark fruits, apple, sweet, cardboard, some alcohol. A bit one-dimensional and too oxidized.

Lekker, donker bier met volle, rijpe smaak. Beetje zoetig, prettig mondgevoel en fine nasmaak.

MarcoDL (5479) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 28, 2017
Bottle, bb march 2017. Brown copper color. Aroma of raisin, yeast, ester, caramel fudge and red fruit. Taste has raisin, malt, red fruit, caramel fudge, some yeast ester and a boozy fruity finish. Aging has made it more like port, just how I like an old barley wine.
