Many thanks to beerhunter111 for this 33cl bottle. Best before 03.2016. The beer starts very sweetish. Malt, smooth. No alcohol. Easy to drink with a malty intense sweetness. Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Hazed bright res / amber coloured pour with an off white head. Aroma is earthy wood, caramel, spicy hop and dash of lemon. Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy amber beer, good fluffly pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and light, fine carbonation. Sweet caramel malt. Floral things. Sweet hard candy underneath. Light airy finish. A sweet beer but pretty drinkable.
Bottled from speciaalbierpakket.nl, BB 04-2017, 8.5% so de Molen version, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Gushing out of the bottle, pouring a hazy copper color with a huge rocky off-white head. Aroma of caramel, cookie, quite some peppery spice, hint of cinnamon, hint of orange, hint of mustard (i doubt its in there, but this would make a great pairing with old cheese and mustard!). I was afraid it would smell bad and infected, its actually quite nice. Still bit sweet in taste (orange and caramel), slight spicy bitterness. Bit dry and bit thin in body (seems it has fermented out quite well, maybe some extra in the bottle), but it might even fit the style. Although it was gushing and shows a huge head, it is ok in carbonation, ofcourse on the high side. Does show slight signs of oxidation, but still pretty decent beer. Bottle at Chriso. It pours Valerie deep amber with a massive light tan head. The nose is earthy, toasty, dough, spice, candied fruits and orange peel. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, toffee, dried fruits, raisin, varnish, citrus peel and candied fruits with a dry, sweetish finish. Medium+body and fine, prickly carbonation. Not bad. UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 Bottle. Pours hazy amber/brown with an off white head. Aroma: nuts, yeasty, Taste: nutty, red and blue berries, brown sugar, white raisins, honey, wood. Sweet, with a little bitter and sourness. Very smooth, with a long sweet, somewhat alcoholic and sticky finish. A bit too sweet for my liking.

Bottle, thnx to Secret Sinterklaas 2013. Pours a hazy amber beer with a massive off white head on top. Aroma is mostly Belgian yeast, red fruits and is actually quite nice. Still the yeast is very present in this. Funny thing happened. When I put the bottle back down after the second pour, there was beer streaming out of the bottle. So I need to buy another keyboard... again. After this huge gusher of epic proportions, I’d continue drinking this beverage. Flavor is very sweet, malty and caramel with again a fruity, yeasty touch to it. Quite unbalanced to the sweeter side of the palate. Higly carbonated, prickly mouthfeel, long sweet finish. It’s a decent beer, but it has too many flaws for a really good score.
