I admit to liking it just a little more because I’m having it on draft at The Berghoff. Clean lager color, a thin foam ring around the edge. Light malt smell with a bit of pils character to it. Clean crisp "Special Export" taste that shows a hard water profile and puts German hops on the sides of my tongue. Hop bitterness builds with each sip. Now a much improved and very distinctive all-malt flagship beer.
Golden color with a moderate, fairly stable, off-white head. Grainy aromas with a touch of grassy to herbal hops. Heavier than your average Minhas product. Grains abound with a touch of citrus in the middle. A bit prickly on the tongue. A little presence of alcohol. 3/13

@ ORD. Golden, with no head. Has a lot of pale malt, lightly spicy hop, Probably a bit too much alcohol, Not bad, though, it hits the style. superspak (5497) - Michigan, USA - OCT 19, 2015
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, light honey, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness after the finish from bitterness. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Dortmunder style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A very enjoyable offering. Pours no head on a clear straw body.
The aroma is grain and lemon.
The taste is lemon and metallic bitterness.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.
It’s okay. Tmoney99 (14365) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 2, 2015
Bottle. Poured clear light golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate bread yeast and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Average for style beer.

Twelve ounce bottle from a Berghoff variety pack. Crystal clear golden pour with minimal lacing and a very thin white head. Aroma of sweet malty grains and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is fairly sweet up front with a decent amount of hop bitterness in the finish. Crisp and clean drinker. BVery (10297) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - APR 4, 2015

There are no other Dortwunder or Dortwonders in the database. Congratulations to Berghoff for being the first to come up w/ this ridiculous name! And the icing on the cake is this beer is not abjectly terrible. Truly the first day this was brewed will be forever remembered in the anals of Point Brewing history. It’s a clear orange yellow w/ a long-lasting head of fine white bubbles. The nose is floury malts along w/ some floral, grassy and lemon tones from the hops. This has a bit of a sweet honey-like character but it is at least firmly bitter to balance. A very slight metallic off note around the edges in the finish is my biggest complaint. Overall, this is a medium bodied, highly-carbonated brew that is nice and drinkable w/ a little more flavor than a standard macro later (note: I like macro lagers so I don’t mean this to be disparaging). I could drink a six pack of this and come back for more so, hey, it serves it’s purpose. jmohno (1610) - Iowa, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Gold light gold. Some head, ok lace. Nice malty aroma buttery toasty nutty like. Vanilla cookie. Malty foamy mouthfeel, light caramel, toast, light buttery malt. dry foamy. Bit of citrus and generic hop flavor. Decent dortmunder. drdisque (828) - Illinois, USA - NOV 17, 2014
On tap in Berghoff in O’Hare. Clear pale. Very sweet lager, bordering on sticky but with a crisp finish. Very lightly hopped. No crap adjunct flavor. Good, if a bit bland lager.
