Draft at the Berghoff bar. The pour produces a nice foamy head over a golden lager color, edging slightly toward a pale ale orange. The smell actually put me in mind of German noble hops, with some English in the background. That’s in the taste as well, although the hop seems to be knocked off its perch by a sweeter malt profile than I’d expect. After a little more, I decide the hops are the equal of the malt after all, but they don’t quite harmonize.
bottle, 2016 rating - Clear, light gold pour. Aroma of bready malt and a little fruit. The flavor is lightly sweet malt, mild hops bitterness, and a touch of fruit. Light bodied. Decent. peponi (2015) - Strzelce Wielkie, POLAND - MAR 18, 2016

@ ORD. Slight haze. Thin head. Aroma is lightly fruity, palate as well. Gooseberries, red currants and other lighter fruits. Low bitterness, but it’s kind of drinkable anyway. BeerInHeaven (480) - Brillion, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 22, 2016
pours a slightly murky gold with a smallish white head. aroma is light sweet floral. Very interesting flavor profile. Definite hop presence. mildly bitter but with spices as well as a little sweet honey. The blend of hops , spices, and honey all come through in the finish and linger in the sinuses. To this point I hadn’t been a big Berghoff fan, but this one is quite good! tompete (348) - Tillsonburg, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2015
Pours clear gold with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweetly malty. Flavour is solid and smoothly bitter with some lightly toasty malt. Finish is dry but sticky on the lips with a subtle bitterness.

Decent enough, cleanly made, light style across the board but crisp enough for a hot summer day. jjuf1853 (1302) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - APR 12, 2015
Bottle from Berghoff variety 12 pack. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a foamy white head. Loose, sudsy lacing along the glass. Aroma has biscuit and sweet notes. Flavor is fairly sweet up front with some bitterness in the finish. BVery (11364) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - APR 5, 2015
Bottle. Pretty clear light orange pour with a small soapy white head. Overripe, borderline rotten, fruit dominates the aroma and taste. Bit of hop edge late. Not a total fail, but nothing I’d want again. Frank (4236) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2015
It seems like Berghoff has recently changed all its labels, made new recipes and moved production from Minhas to Point and the beer is much better for all these changes. It is not out of this world but it is very much better than it was. This beer in particular is a nice golden orange color w/ a long-lasting head of fine white bubbles. It has a bit of a floral, noble hop nose which reminds me somewhat of koelsch--albeit a sort of an Americanized take on it as there is a touch of citrus as well. Although this is a touch on the sweet side there isn’t all that much malt taste to it but the sweetness does seem to help support the hops and bring out their fruitier aspects. The bitterness in the finish is solid and resinous w/ a bit of an earth quality to it. An iced-tea like astringent not lingers after the beer is swallowed. This feels to me like a bridge between a Pilsner-type beer and an APA. I am not sure it has the very best qualities of either but it is a pretty damn solid brew.
