Pours a clear brown with a small white ring and some spotty lace. This garbage looks and smells like pop. Aroma of sweet/sour cherry blasters. Taste is far too sugary sweet & tastes like a Dr. Pepper mixed with no name brand black cherry flat pop. This thing is horrendous, did they realize that they put a bottle of pop in the beer calendar? Bottle, Dec 18th Beer Advent Calendar. Light amber brown, thin off white head. Thin, watery, sugary Dr. Pepper identity crisis PIECE OF SHIT FAILURE OF A BEER!!!! Porter? Seriously? Drain pour. Total garbage. manuchampions (1244) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 18, 2012
Pours a deep brown with thin cream head. Yikes, what the hell is that aroma? Some cherries mixed in with a little off roasted malt. Taste is worse. The cherries are both slightly sour and hellishly sweet combined with a very anemic porter base. Finish is unpleasant. It’s a mess of two really uncomplimentary styles with neither being a good example of either. Weak. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 18, 2012
Dec 18 CBAC. Pors with a thin looking body. Dark copper with thin head. Maraschino cherry scent. More cherry than beer. Sweet. Can almost taste the coconut and chocolate of a Cherry Blossom chocolate bar. Maybe appropriate for Christmas but not what I look for in a beer any time of the year. pintbypint (3639) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 18, 2012
330ml brown bottle, from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar. medium brown pour with red tints. Nicely formed beige cap, good retention. Sweet cherry nose. Taste has some sugary notes, semi fake cherry. Ends with a little medicinal note, lingering sweetness. Light body, medium carbonation. Not porter, and not very interesting.

Pours a clear brown with no head. Aroma is maraschino cherries, with toast and creamy malts barely noticeable underneath. Light bodied, low carbonation. Flavour is really sweet with the cherries being the prominent flavour. The sticky sweetness lingers but fades more into a cherry cough drop thing. (33cl bottle) 2012 Advent Calendar. Wow... Sweet cherries, not what I was expecting. Slight sour, weak sour ale back. Very bizarre. Not quaffable. Maybe enjoyable as an introduction beer outside the regular styles - but alas it didn’t excite my palate. Seemed too much like those Liefman’s alcopops.

It’s -5C, my toes are losing heat fast and I have to ride back home in the snow. It’s a good thing the cloud cover reflect the orange from the city lights so well. The top of this stairwell is such a wonderful place at 1030 at night. Solitude, owls and cracking ice. And a beer to review with freezing thumbs. The aroma is very sweet with tons of candy sweet cherries, toffee, weak medicinal stuff, some darker cherry and a light roast. Smells kind of like a Cherry Blossom. The flavour ain’t that great but I am enjoying the sweetness. Kind of a confectionary mess with a toffee, cherry, chewy thing. The coyotes just started up and they are EVERYWHERE! Fucking cool and eerie at the same time. Good carbonation. Light hop bite. An odd beer. I am really cold. Time to mount to bike and ride home. beeracoon (511) - - OCT 29, 2012
Medium brownish head, dark brown colour. Sweet cherry aroma, taste and palate. It tastes more like a soft drink than a beer and is far too sweet for me. reebtogi (6267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 27, 2012
330ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a small white head that leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is cherries and not much else. Taste is malty sweetness with cherries. No porter qualities at all in this brew, not at all what I was expecting.
