Poured into a snifter, the appearance was burnt dark caramel color with a light tan foamy head that stiffened and let up to a sly stringy lace after dissipation.
The aroma had some sweet dried tobacco leaf, nice caramel/toffee malt base, citrus rind, soft dark bread, light toast, subtle butterscotch, some damp word, just a touch of vanilla, light red cherries and ended with a little bit of earthy hops.
The flavor blended fairly nice the sweet to a light yet firm bitterness from the hops. Tobacco dry sweetness clings to the dark breadiness and hits upon the aftertaste in the same sort of way. Light tobacco in the finish with a touch of vanilla and citrus rind.
The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation was fine and the ABV felt god as well.
Overall, pretty nicely done English styled barleywine that I would have again. bbbeer (852) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 23, 2016
Cloudy brown with medium tan head. Aroma sugary malt grain. Medium body. Not much alcohol. Flavor is mostly sweet, unfocused, maybe some dry hops in the background but not much, caramel. Not sure what’s going on here. BiddleBrau (1221) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2015
2015 model, Oatmeal Stout. At Brew City Worcester. Black with thin tan head. Nice rich flavor, smooth hint of burnt malt but sweetness of dark fruit. Well balanced b/w dark malt and sweetness. Minimal nose. Tasty bob_w (373) - new york, New York, USA - FEB 20, 2015
2014 version, bottled. Murky brown color. Caramel, butterscotch, a hint of cocoa in the aroma, some mild spice. Mellow flavor, not aggressively boozy. Lots of malt character. Hints of caramel, toffee, a touch of chocolate/cocoa, a little bit of butter/butterscotch. Smooth body. The alcohol is well hidden by the layers of malt oriented flavors. Quite good. I’ll definitely pick this up again if i have the opportunity. Giochaurand (533) - FINLAND - DEC 24, 2014

Bottle sampled at a friends house. From notes. Caramel and toffee with loads of sweet and dark fruits. Very good. Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Aroma of sweetbread and butterscoth. Dark brown, looks like a dubbel more than porter or schwarz. Really spicy, featuring baking spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Thick and heavy, though not obviously boozey. Like a winter warmer imperialized. This is hard to put away, and I don’t say that easily. blklab2007 (2120) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 15, 2014
Bottle 2013 on the front of the label. Pour has a dark brown color with a coating of dark tan head. Aroma has roasted malt, chocolate, grains, a bit of spice, and some hops. Mouth feel is medium light and the carbonation good. Flavor has an interesting malt combo, mild roast, chocolate, some bitterness, and complementing spices. Flavors are well integrated and this does not come off hot at all.
