Pours a clear brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma of bourbon and caramel. Flavor of bourbon and caramel. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and soft carbonation. Decent. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 4, 2010
In short: A simple sweet and slightly buttery scotch ale with moderate bourbon presence.nbutler11 (1267) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAR 28, 2010
How: Bottle 22oz. Age unknown. Sent to me by CaptainCougar. Thanks a lot Tom
The look: Cloudy brown body topped by a medium beige head with medium retention
In long: Nose of toffee, vanilla and a touch of bourbon barrel. Taste is buttery toffee, caramel, raisins juice, some bourbon barrel. An unexpected green apple tartness that for inexplicable reason fits in rather well in the beer and helps to lighten it up. The bourbon barrel is not overdone, or maybe it is old enough that it has blended within the beer. No alcohol presence whatsoever. The beer is mostly good but I was annoyed a bit by it slightly butter flavour and very oily texture. All in all a 22oz was more than enough. I was disappointed by this beer. The ratings are good. But more importantly it is made exclusively for my absolute favourite beer store. I assumed it had to be good because it is exclusive to the best beer store. That’s how I am. I’m an idealist. I don’t have clue where I’m going, but I’m confident I’m heading in the right direction.
Bottle generously shared by the infamous bavarianpurity -- thanks, Ander! Pours a murky caramel color with a trim khaki head. Looks more like a barley wine. Smells of banana bread and bourbon. Tastes of both with an added note of Hawaiian punch and lactose. Really odd, but certainly tasty. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 27, 2010
Poured a hazed deep copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was decent with notes of bourbon, vanilla, wood, and sweet brown sugar. Flavor of bourbon, caramel and vanilla. Very tasty. Warming in the chest with no alcohol taste. illidurit (2338) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 23, 2010
Bottle shared at Woodshop 5.0. Pours a deep brown/amber color with a big foamy tan head. Fruity smokey aroma with dark caramel. Warming bourbon flavors with caramel and a nice, even smokiness. Carbonation on the high side, detracts from the richness.

22oz bomber. Pours an exceptional dark brown with some great roasted barley and vanilla notes. I was hoping this had improved from when I first bought it 6 monthes ago. Carbonation was lower and the bourbon florished much like I hoped it would. Another amazing offering from BBC daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 21, 2009
Cloudy brown with some red highlights and a nice fluffy tan head. Aroma is awesome. Caramel, sweet bourbon, vanilla, golden raisins and wood. Flavor is sweet and syrupy. Maple flavors, rich vanilla beans and bourbon. MMMM good. j12601 (11671) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2009
Pouring at the Brass City Brew Fest. This was the 07, aged in Jim Bean barrels. Pours a light hazy brown with a thin white head. Whiskey, vanilla, and wood on the nose along with some nice thick malt. Medium bodied, malty and lightly sweet. More whiskey and some light booze on the finish. This was pretty solid.

Pours rusty orange brown with a small off white head.
Nose is strong on whiskey, molasses and cinnamon.
Taste is thin, apples, mild whiskey, lots of maple syrup. TaktikMTL (7798) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 18, 2009
