Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville NC - Dark copper pour. Big oaky nose. Carmel, vanilla, and bourbon. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 21, 2008
Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to ucusty for sharing! I’d been wanting to try some Berkshire stuff, and this was a nice robust Scotch beer. Barrel was present immediately in the nose, a bit too assertive with both the oak and bourbon heat. But my fears were allayed somewhat when I tasted it, because the flavors were integrated quite well, heat, barrel, and malts dancing together nicely. emacgee (4675) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JUL 21, 2008
Thanks Ucusty. Pours a translucent dark copper with a thin copper head. The nose is spicy, lots of vanilla and oak, bourbon is there for sure, sweet, caramel, lightly bready. The flavor shows lots of barrel aging, spicy oak and bourbon, warming bourbon, caramel, malty. I was very impressed with this one. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 26, 2008
Bottle. Pours a dark scotch color with a thin tan head. Aroma is nice with a bourbon, vanilla, oaky, sweet malty nose. Flavor is that plus caramel. Wish this one had a bit more bourbon flavor. Lothore (647) - California, USA - APR 26, 2008
A- Pours a deep ruby color with a small, wispy head which vanishes fairly quickly.
S- Smell is mostly bourbon with quite a bit of sweetness.
T- Taste is dominated by the bourbon barrel all the way through however there is a hop presence in the middle and a sweetness which balances it out very well.
M- Somewhat thick with a good amount of carbonation.
D- This one is incredibly balanced and an easy sipper all the way through.

22 oz bottle, shared by AlexDeLarge (BA ClockworkOrange). Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head that fell to a wispy covering. The nose is really well balanced, light bourbon, light oak, and slightly sweet. Very distilled spirit like. Nice well balanced flavor as well. The bourbon and sweetness from the Scotch Ale really work well together. Long lingering slightly sweet finish. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, a little sticky, with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, a pretty nice beer. I liked that it wasn’t overly boozy, they didn’t let the barrel overtake the beer. Should have gotten my own bottle of this one. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - JAN 15, 2008
15 DEC 07, Southeast YeHa. 22oz bottle. Pours deep dark brown. Nice white head. Aroma is sweet vanilla, cake batter. Flavor of bourbon, wood, vanilla and finishes with big bitterness. Slight flavors of smokiness. Cheers! Good stuff..... JMFG (1587) - Florida, USA - JAN 14, 2008
Courtesy CaptainCougar, Orlando Christmas Gathering. Poured a clear amber with a thin white layer of head. Not a lot of alcohol or bourbon on the aroma. More of a general malty sweet caramel aroma. The taste is sort of dry, with some sweetness coming in on the finish. Not a lot of bourbon, but a decent scotch underneath. Odeed (1803) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JAN 13, 2008

Bomber from Alldaydrinker! Very simply a much lighter version of the AS BA Wee Haevy we rated right before it! Nose of caramel, oak, and light bourbon; hazy medium brown with a small off-white head; Flavor of caramel, vanilla, and a very light banana ester, raisins, and bourbony oak.
