BBC’s IPA probably closer to a hopped up golden ale for most other brewers, that being said this is one of my favs. Pours clear gold from a 22 oz. bomber, supriseingly dry with good amount of hops, medium body with nice malt. FYI if buying growlers, make sure your store has sufficient turnover as these do become cloudy with time Derek881 (1272) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 3, 2013
Poured from a large bottle into a short glass to drink. The beer had a hazy, cloudy dull amber-orange color with an average-sized foamy off-white head that had good retention, but modest cling and lacing. Its aroma had citrus and floral notes, with some pain, and milder tones of caramel malt and candy. The taste was mostly bitter with a grainy-citrus blend, and had a slight sour barley effect too. It was a slightly wet and watery beer with an average mouthfeel, and average carbonation and fizz. Not one of the better BBC beers. jtclockwork (16691) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Bottle shared by John. Part of 5K backlog. Pours clear gold with off white head. Nose of caramel malt, pineapple, peach, orange zest and herbal resin. Taste is mostly bready malt and caramel with a dryish resin finish. A bit bland. Okay. Lighter than medium bodied. Slipstream (2651) - USA - MAY 16, 2013
A good light IPA. BBC seems to have a light hand with the hops in general; most of their beers are on the malty side. This one is an IPA tho, and it is fully hopped. A "British-inspired" IPA, the label says, with "generous dry-hopping" with Goldings. Floral aroma with some caramel and bread. The taste is like an English IPA, pretty mellow overall, and a good accompaniment to my tofurkey sandwich. SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - APR 25, 2013

Bottle. Average-looking pour, orange-amber. The aroma is a bit fruity, a bit bakery. The drink is a little schizophrenic. There’s some acidity here, but the narrow band of bready malt doesn’t balance very well with it. This grows me as I go, though ... Maybe as more of it sticks to my mouth, it mellows overall. Sampled in a bomber on Martha’s Vineyard. A nice summer beer. Not over powering but refreshing. User209050 (21) - - NOV 4, 2012
Actually liked this better by bottle than on tap. Unusual as it is I was comparing it with the Rotator Series Falconer IPA today and it paled in comparison and that is the best way to say it.
Appearance: 4.5 out of 5.00 Beautiful unfiltered appearance. Orange / Copper color... Golden hue.
Smell: Aroma of light citrus..
Taste: Not as hoppy as I would have expected. Very low bitterness for an IPA. Malty and frothy on the front with limited IPA taste more of a golden ale. Not hoppy. No alcohol bite. Maybe the English in English IPA comes from the breadiness of this ale.
Mouthfeel: Suprisingly dry. Does not have peppery or hoppy mouthfeel more of a sweetness which almost tastes skunked...
Overall: No major flaws but not the best of BBC. Its adequate and I would rate it well as Berkshire has not done me wrong in the past but this is not their finest product.. Drake (13954) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 4, 2012
Bomber from Whole Foods Market Darien, CT. Pours a hazy orange color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, a faint bit of resin, and toasted, almost nutty malts. The taste is toasted malts, graham crackers, citrus hops, apples. Medium bodied. Decent. Kegs and bottles. I remember freshman year when this was the "special" BBC beer that you rarely saw At parties ’cause it was a little more pricey than their reg lineup. When I drink it these days, I think about how much I didn’t really care what I was injecting beerwise, as long as it wasn’t any kinda BMC product. Not that this particular beer is bad, it’s far from it, but the level it was held to in those early craft beer explorations seems superficial these days. So it goes. Always have a special place in my heart (and liver) for BBC.
