3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Purchased from Leary’s for $4.34 last night. I haven’t had a Black & Tan in a while. Glad I’m going to...RIGHT NOW!!!! Bottle, as opposed to can or a fuckin’ growler. I like bottles. Pours blood-red with a sudsy off-white head. You know something, I was getting annoyed with all the rings lately. Oh, yeah. Aromas of hop pellets, ginger ale, leather, minerals and peppercorns. Taste the same. Yeast and moldy clementines by swallow. As many have said, it’s easy-drinking, but not something I’d buy again. Kinda odd to say the least.
12oz bottle. Pours murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with some spice and a little chocolate. Taste is lightly chocolate, malt, toffee, and bread. Light bitter, burnt malt aftertaste. Medium body. Average carbonation. Mouthfeel is a tad watery. TATE (407) - Lubec, Maine, USA - JAN 10, 2016
Bottle. Pours a murky dark brown with a thin tan head. Odd smell like glue. The flavor is odd as well, some chocolate notes and burnt maltiness. Emeister84 (2479) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - AUG 14, 2015
Aromas of coffee, strawberry preserves, some caramel, slight roast. Hazy dark brown with ruby highlights, and a lasting, rocky beige head. Malty, a little sweet, dominant caramel and bread, somewhat toasty, some toffee. Medium-full bodied, sticky. Tonkun (1296) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 15, 2015
Bottle. Copper pour with a big mocha head. Coffee, nuts, toast, caramel. Medium body. Caramel and hop sweetness throughout. Nice finish. Pretty good mansquito (6338) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JAN 2, 2015

Pretty tasty, exactly what I expected for a black and tan. Nut brown color with nice thick head. Chocolate notes and pale malts play off each other with a hop presence. warhawk91 (302) - Newington, Connecticut, USA - MAR 10, 2014
Bomber. Pour is very dark brown with a light tan head, laces well. Smell is brown sugar, with light coffee notes. Taste is sweet with caramel and a touch of coffee and chocolate, faint note if hops. Very smooth and drinkable, doesn't blow me away, but nothing off with it either.

Bottle split at Dadsgving, thanks, 24/11/13.
Hazed dark amber with a moderate light beige head.
Nose is dark malts, toffee, brown bread, light cocoa.
Taste comprises toffee, grain, very light roast, fruit cake.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry closure.
Ok - kind of a porter light/brown ale hybrid. Nothing I’d rush back to mind. jredmond (8206) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Bottle at Dadsgiving 2013. Pours a dark brown body with light off white lacing. Aroma is spice, dirt and malt. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet malt, spice and a light earthy character.
