Bottle. Pours a golden body, with an average white head that diminishes fairly quickly, leaving a fair lace. Faint grassy and metallic aroma, light bitter taste. Watery texture, thin body, average carbonation. Below average. flying_pig (1683) - SCOTLAND - AUG 19, 2014
Pint in Berlin - €3.00:
Not a bad lager but definitely not a great one and not exactly worth trying when you compare it to the countless other German lagers out there that I would rate much higher than this one. The beers biggest asset was how easy it was to drink but it was a fairly boring beer in the long run with the taste and smell both seeming a little weak and uninteresting. Worth a try if you’re in Berlin, mainly because you can’t avoid the stuff but this one was a fairly forgettable beer without being a bad one. Lurkkiherra (5) - FINLAND - AUG 9, 2014 does not count
Well-balanced pils, (CO2 and bitterness). This is suitable to drink in 1.0l glass with couple of currywurst. Rather elegant pilsener from Berlin. Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - JUL 30, 2014
Old and traditional northern German lager that has apparently been brewed since 1902 (though not yet by Kindl-Schultheiss back then). Snow white, equal, not too stable head, colour a light golden blonde, cristal clear with fine sparkling. Sweetish pale malts in the nose, bit grainy too as well as a yeasty sourishness (sourbread) and cheesy and grassy hops. Lightly malty and grainy taste with quite sharp CO2, smooth and mineral-like, ’crispy’ with a relatively firm grassy and peppery hop bitterness in the finish, that keeps lingering long enough to make this an adequate, though stereotypical Pilsener. Pure, honest and thirst-quenching, what more can one expect from a lager... Foffern (2044) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUL 24, 2014
On tap at a pub in Berlin. The colour is clear straw with a medium, soap-like, off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, hay, grass and some citrus. Light flavour of pale malt, hops and some sweet corn. Nice sweetness in the end. Slick mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. A light but balanced and nice pilsener.
StilleStorm (1582) - Stavanger, NORWAY - JUL 5, 2014
DWGIB; On tap at Reinhard’s. Pours clear golden with a fading white head. Nose is shy malt, light hay and cardboard with metalic and some chemical notes. Taste is light to moderate sweet, light to moderate bitter, light spicy with some metalic, chemical off note flavours, somewhat metalic and dry lasting. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft. Christos (5909) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JUN 25, 2014
500 ml bottle at home, into a lager glass. ABV 5%
I had this in Berlin too but I lost my notes, glad I found another bottle.
Clear golden yellow colour on the body, tall white head, thick and soapy with very good retention. Intense activity in the glass. Light lacing left behind after the foam has collapsed.
Aroma of fresh straw, light grass, malts.
Tastes the same, maybe a bit too malty, light bitterness on the finish along woth metal notes.
Medium thin body, average carbonation. Quite dry palate.
Overall okay, refreshingly nice.
.5l bottle at Belgrade tasting. Pale yellow, bubbly white head. Corn, cardboard. not offensive, some dry bittering. ok. vipinvelp (4580) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 2, 2014
Clear light yellow with white foam head. Aroma is strong pilsner and tastes quite strong barley and some hay. Fresh. (Berlin 201406)
