500 ml bottle @ Gyllene Prag. Pours deep reddish brown, almost black, with a grayish brown head that leaves a film on the glass. Smell is slightly sour with some bergamot orange and caramel. Taste is mostly roasted malts with some coffee and lots of metal and minerals. Finish is subtle, dry and rather bitter.

Dude im not even sure if this the proper Bernard i drank ,the labels they all look the same ,i just remember the cap and the deep roasted black lager flavour, way too roasted ,some strong coffee notes too and clove, its not a mediocre beer but i didnt quite like it or finish it for the matter way to toasted...way too much really.Anyway interesting constitution

(On tap - as Bernard Dark Lager - at Tommy’s Beer Cafe, Sydney) Clear but very dark brown with big beige head. Not much aroma, but seemed a little sour, although not in an unpleasant way. Medium body, medium carbonation. Flavour of rich dark caramel malts with some bitterness in finish. Overall, quite decent.
