3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a very pretty, clear mahogany with a warm, reddish hue and a thick, creamy, light brown head with good retention. Delicate aroma of roasted malt and an almost vinous edge. Medium body with roasted, malty accents and a touch of dried fruit. Also a hint of chocolate. Vague burned edge, without making it bitter at all. A unique and perfect balance in this beer. 240406

Crisp palate, slightly dry but not overly so. Smooth dark malt, not roasty or bitter. Some subtle caramel leads to a crisp finish with a splash of minerals. Very drinkable dark lager.

Draft at the Euston Tap. Pours a dark, semi-clear, ruby-brown with a small, light beige head. Dark malts on the nose, light bread, lager yeast. Very sweet, big caramel notes, lots of malt, light sugar syrup, faint bitterness. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Sweet, malty finish, crisp, relatively refreshing, more caramel. Nice beer. Not too sweet. Well done.
