Amber Lager
Bernard’s Amber Lager is a unique half-dark lager produced by an original brewing recipe of the Barnard’s Family Brewery. The light caramel-type malt endows this beer with a balanced bitter taste, fine toffee aroma, and full body. It is an unpasteurized beer enriched with yeast during bottling.

Dark mahogany color with beige head. Average bitterness with the background notes of malt, bread, grains and caramel. Kinda dry beer with nice hoppy finish. Avergae carbonation. Refreshing lager.

Custom bottle opening with light gushing (not the first Bernard bottle to do that). Copper colour, clear. Tall off-white frothy head. Good retention. Smells of caramel malts, toast, hay, minimal metal. Light to medium body. Oily. The flavour is firstly pretty metallic. Later the real points of the brew show. Semidry, caramelly, light to medium grassy bitterness. I’m ready to forget the start of the trying. Now it’s a perfectly balanced semidark lager. It’s good. The story of the keeping of that custom bottles is quite discussional.

From XXXII. In Bavaria glass. Playing Grim Fandango Remastered. Highly drinkable. Malty, with some caramel and cardboard notes. Pleasant but nothing special

nephirem (633) - CROATIA - JUL 25, 2016
Pours dark copper color with medium, off-white head. Smell of malts, yeast, some hops and slight caramel.

Thin body with prickly carbonation. Texture is watery. Bittersweet. Aroma is pretty much the same as the smell but slightly herbal with metallic mouthfeel. Finish is bitter and a bit dry.

Overall, ok. Not bad but nothing special either.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark ruby reddish beer with a big off white head on top. Aroma is fruity, a hint of caramel, sweeter malts and a touch of some cardboard. Flavor is very light sweet, fruity, malty and has an overall quite light body. Good drinkability, mellow carbonation. Long, light sweet aftertaste. Quite nice.

Demens (498) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 12, 2016
0,5l bottle. Clear deep copper colour with quickly disappearing white head. Aroma: Caramel, yeast, a bit boozey. Taste: Short sweet malty start with a light/medium bitter mouthfeel with a hiding sour tone. Light body with medium carbonation. Long bitter/sour finish.
