Amber Lager
Bernard’s Amber Lager is a unique half-dark lager produced by an original brewing recipe of the Barnard’s Family Brewery. The light caramel-type malt endows this beer with a balanced bitter taste, fine toffee aroma, and full body. It is an unpasteurized beer enriched with yeast during bottling.

Dark amber color; big head. Aroma of caramel and some nice hop. The body is light, the mouthfeel is dry, with a lot of caramel. Quite strong bitterness, with lots of burnt sugars. Rough.

At GBBF 2009. Reddish brown gold colour with thick cream head. Toffeeish tasty but above all cold. Enough toffee malt to carry it. Good solid lager.

500ml bottle. Deep chestnut with lasting beige head. I like this, good roast toast malts, some toffee, but not too dominant. Hops on end provide a drying finish. Bit of coffee. Nice.

Cherrywood colour. Malty flavour - toffee. Very smooth. Some pale malt mixed in there. A hint of milk chocolate complements this nicely.

(Söderbärke 2007) Amber color, offwhite head. Roasted malt aroma. Malty flavor, some hops, a bit boring compared to other Bernerd-beers.

Dark golden with a perfect head. Sweet fruity and a little malty aroma. Tastes a little sweet, some pepper in the finish. Very nice.

Dark nutty brown, amber color, small beige head. Saccarine, coffee and caramel in the nose. Medium-bodied. Grassy hoppy, caramelly malty flavor. Some alcoholic bitterness in the aftertaste. Almost like a Baltic Porter.

jtclockwork (17446) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 28, 2014
Bottle thanks to Cuso. Pours reddish amber off white head. Nose/taste of caramel, toasted bread, black pepper, pine and touch of fruit. Medium body.

yngwie (17262) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle. It’s a clear, dark amber to brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is quite weak, some dark malts and dried fruits, but it’s at least not bad. Dark malts, dried fruits, some toffee and a little bit of cooked vegetables in the flavor. Medium body, dry, pleasantly carbonated. Some bitterness in the end. An easy drinkable beer, but that’s it. 121124

Bottle @ Pivovarsky Klub, Prague. Pours dark brown with a large fluffy lasting head and lacings. Nose is buiscuit and caramel. Flavor has a metallic scent and also bread, caramel, toffee and fruit. Ok

MiP (15981) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 4, 2008
Bottle, 4.7%. Clear brown colour. Good roasted flavour, a little grain and a hint of grain sourness. Just enough sweetness to make it OK.
