Amber Lager
Bernard’s Amber Lager is a unique half-dark lager produced by an original brewing recipe of the Barnard’s Family Brewery. The light caramel-type malt endows this beer with a balanced bitter taste, fine toffee aroma, and full body. It is an unpasteurized beer enriched with yeast during bottling.

Bottle from a shop in the castle in Prague. Poured a light gusher, dark copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is malt with a little hop. Med body. It’s heading for a hoppy dunkel, but doesn’t get there. Pretty hoppy in the finish. Nice to drink.

Borup (15942) - Albertslund, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2017
50 cl. bottle. An amber coloured beer with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, hops, bread, caramel and with a sweet finish.

imdownthepub (15518) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2008
Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml Swing top from Tesco, Plzen. Chestnut with short white head. Sweet, fruity, caramel beer with an odd rubbery note in the body. Still plenty of sugar left from the brew but still a little thin. Fairly average.

Christian (13927) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 27, 2012
UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 Odense spring time specialties night at Dolle. Chestnut with a small off-white head. Aroma of grain, toffee, hay, plum and apple peel. Sweetish toffee malty flavour with dark fruity notes and a hoppy finish. Re-rate, bottle at the brewery 2017. Much the same notes and rating.

Rune (13720) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 11, 2010
500ml flip-top bottle from bestillingsutvalget, Systembolaget. Beige, one-finger lacing-head. Shining brown coloured body. Smell of mid-sweet grainy malts. Chocolate-caramel malts in flavour supported by dry, herbal hops towards the ending. Soft in the mouth. Medium bodied, and really a well composed dunkel. Enjoyed while watching Sábliková on TV, running very fast on 3000m. Good Czech beer and even better Czech speed skater (Tromsø, 09.01.2010).

Camons (13497) - Hasselager, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2015
Draught @ Bernard Pub Jeseniova, Prague, as Bernard Polotmavy 12. Pours malt, light roast, caramel, bread, hay, nuts. Flavor is light sweet, malty, caramel, bread, hay, nutty. Medium body, soft carbonation, light sweet finish. 230815

Bov (13354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 26, 2014
from Au Grain d’Orge, Neuchâtel - light hazy reddish-brown beer under a long lasting creamy beige foam; nice lacework; a hint of toasted malt, caramel and flowers play together; medium-bodied and light tart; the finish is decently bitter, dry and shows corny and caramelish notes
