Amber Lager
Bernard’s Amber Lager is a unique half-dark lager produced by an original brewing recipe of the Barnard’s Family Brewery. The light caramel-type malt endows this beer with a balanced bitter taste, fine toffee aroma, and full body. It is an unpasteurized beer enriched with yeast during bottling.

on tap at the bernard bar in pilsen, alas a place where the normally clean bernard beers can be in poor condition. anyways, amber, thin head, toffee aroma, a bit rough and dusty, some caramel, light tinny bitterness

On tap (gravity dispense) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009 as Bernard Jantar. Darkish lager - oak colour. Strong malt aroma. Slightly sweet flavour. Respectable but not as enjoyable as of some other Bernard beers I’ve tried - a bit too much sweetness for me.

larsga (7470) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 14, 2013
Big beige head. Clear deep dark red body with strong carbonation. Vague earthy caramelly aroma with rubbery notes. Sweetish earthy caramelly taste with roasty mineraly notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy rubbery roasted caramel aftertaste with syrupy rye crisp bread notes. Very nice, and highly drinkable, with real character. The roasted caramel flavour is impressively vivid. (0.5l bottle, from Toft Vin, Copenhagen.)

Bottle. Chestnut, golden foam. Fresh saaz with light nutty undertones. Malt character stays in the background on this one - a nutty roaastyness with complements a elegant sublte flowery start, light citric notes. Chewy body, light sparkly mouthfeel. Earthy and roasted retronasal. Nice.
Earlier Rating: 9/9/2004 Total Score: 3

Aroma lighter tone for dark lager , fresh light with hints of hops. Slight mineral notes with sugars.6+
Appearance dark amber-brown with medium , rather short lived head. Still neat contrast. 3-
Flavor and Palate : medium bodied. This beer has exceptional texture paired with good depth. Top made of gently approaching hop bellow woody hint followed by brown sugars. Overall drier than expected. Has slight bitter edge to it. Pleasant solid brew.
Earlier Rating: 2/28/2005 Total Score: 3.9
Light brown hue, average head. Sweet malty aroma - nice and refreshing. Good mouthfeel, smooth, refined dunkel. Good balance preserved. One of better dunkels around. Kraft beer.

Brownish colour with a thick beige head. Straight forward caramel malt stuff with a faint bitterness in the finish. Uneventful but clean and drinkable.
