Amber Lager
Bernard’s Amber Lager is a unique half-dark lager produced by an original brewing recipe of the Barnard’s Family Brewery. The light caramel-type malt endows this beer with a balanced bitter taste, fine toffee aroma, and full body. It is an unpasteurized beer enriched with yeast during bottling.

50 cl. patent-flaske.

from Au Grain d’Orge, Neuchâtel - light hazy reddish-brown beer under a long lasting creamy beige foam; nice lacework; a hint of toasted malt, caramel and flowers play together; medium-bodied and light tart; the finish is decently bitter, dry and shows corny and caramelish notes

500ml bottle from supermarket in Brno, clear copper colour, small fully vanishing rocky off-white head, not much lacing. Moderately malty aroma of hay, caramel and toast with moderate earthy, peppery and floral hops. Taste is initially bittersweet and slightly acidic, turning into a moderately bitter finish with some roastiness. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, average carbonation. A fairly nice and way more characeterful than most amber lager and a cool bottle for homebrews as a bonus.

Clear dark amber pour with large foamy off white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, bready and slight fruit. Taste of malts, toffee, caramel, bread dough and slight hops. Full bodied, softer carbonation, heavy thick mouthfeel, slight hops on the finish and heavy cloying toffee to end. A little too sweet and chewy.

(bottle) clear deep amber-ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of herbal hops, straw and some light alcohol, with notes of roasted malts and dried apricots. flavour is mostly roasted malts and earth, slightly metallic, with hints of herbal hops and marmite. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

If you want to go for lager category you are bored with pale and dark is too roasty for you try semi-dark from Bernard. It is not so bitter as pale and thanks for the caramel malts it is slightly sweet. Very drinkable unpasteurized lager with addition of yeast.

Trocken.
→ Sehr leckeres Bier! 12/12/13/12

Bottle from a shop in the castle in Prague. Poured a light gusher, dark copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is malt with a little hop. Med body. It’s heading for a hoppy dunkel, but doesn’t get there. Pretty hoppy in the finish. Nice to drink.

Dark amber color with big consistent white head. Aroma hops and a little bit grass. Taste is well balanced combination of hops and roasted malts. I like this beer, excellent choice for refreshment.
