(Keg at the market, 20160614) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had caramel, toasted malts and treacle. Palate was rather full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, treacle, caramel, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A tasty roasty brew. Ungstrup (37317) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 21, 2008

Pours deep brown with a medium, creamy, beige head. Stays a long time as a thin film. Aroma has a touch of ashes, good chocolate and lightly roasted malts. Not too sweet. Low carbonation, okay mouthfeel, just bordering on being too thin. Flavour is pleasantly roasted with some peppery notes. Very drinkable.
Hazy dark brown with tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and coffee notes. Flavor is sweet and has hints of coffee, caramel roasted malt and chocolate.

Draught at the brewpub. Weak caramelly aroma. Almost black colour. Nice stable light brown head. Good roasted flavour. A hint of roasted barley. Some caramel. Quite subtle, but good. The mouthfeel is slightly thin, but that is OK for the style, I think. A Schwarzbier in my book. tampierre (1383) - Pilsen, CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 10, 2013

1.5 L plastic bottle. Pours dark and hazy brown with a small brown head. Aroma is dry breadish and mild spiced. Flavour is dark roasted malt with a very dark breadish flavour and some spices too. Ends dry and bitter, spiced too. asheft (3062) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 29, 2008
Apple, ethanol, and nuts in the aroma. Murky brown-black with a tan ring. Nice, toasty-roasty biscuit flavour with good hops bitterness that makes it crisp and clean. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, bitter lasts for a bit.
