UPDATED: DEC 11, 2006 The aroma has mandarin oranges and malt. The appearance is hazy gold with a thin head. The flavor is flat. I can hardly taste the citrus. It basically tastes like stale malt and lightly bitter hops. The palate is thin and almost without carbonation. I can tell the age has gotten to this beer. I wish I could have tried this when it was fresh. Now it’s just lifeless....blah. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - AUG 17, 2006
Can someone explain to me how this is a fruit beer? I mean, mandarin in the name, check. Mandarin tree on the bottle, check. Mandarin in the nose? Mandarin in the nose? Hello? Zippo. OK. Mandarin in the flavor? Zip there too. What aroma I did find was a pretty below average attempt at a hefeweizen, light apricots and light wheat aroma. Appearance was hazy, orangish/yellow with minimal head and barely any conditioning to speak of. Mouthfeel was light, but flat. Flavors weren’t much to speak of either, and again, I couldn’t get any orange. I could get malt, some grains and that’s about it. Overall it was wet and cool but I was really hoping for more. Pretty much a let down. Ungstrup (38958) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 23, 2006
An unclear orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of mandarin, while the flavor is sweet and very carbonated with notes of wheat and mandarin. Reminds me of a mandarin sodapop, both because of the flavor and the high carbonisation level. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 21, 2006
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy pilsener golden with basically no head. Lightly fruity aroma. Light-bodied - almost watery. Distinct mandarin aroma albeit rather artificial. Dry finish. More extraordinary than really well made. 200606 Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 2, 2006
Bottle thanks to Sumdog. Poured a hazy straw yellow with a cap of looser white head... some sediment in there. Nose was pleasant with wheat and candied oranges. Flavor was not as pleasant... suffering from a sharp zesty orange presence that was just too much... sour wheat notes find the fringes of the palate. Lower carbonation with a sticky artificial orange and lime finish. Didn’t work out so well.

Hazy orange color- decent head – nose orange/mandarin zest, yeast and candy – bitter orange, acidic and lime taste – light sparkly body- aftertaste nice and easy ChillCoat (1029) - Concord, California, USA - MAY 19, 2006
Bottled. Hazy copper color with a white head and some floaties. Candied orange aroma. Thin, VERY thin mouth feel with more of the candied orange in the flavor as well. A very easy drinking (read: Bland) beer. There’s a bit of an orange cough drop quality to it as well. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAY 12, 2006
Gold bodied with a short-lived head. The aroma is sweet Mandarin oranges and garden flowers. The oranges become almost syrupy sweet in the flavor, although the wheat finally shows up in the background. I can’t think of a time when I would want to drink this again.stoutlvr (52) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 10, 2006

This one is pretty good. I like the mandarin flavor, it compliments the miniscule amount of yeast very well, or is it intended to mask the miniscule amount of yeast? Drank cold on a hot day, should’ve eaten an orange. WISEGUY572 (1377) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2006
Pours a cloudy orange with no head. My daughter said "is that beer or or piss?" so it’s hard to argue with the previous reviewer’s comment on appearance. Thin and watery in the mouth. Nose is amusing ... sweet orange more than anything else. The taste was an odd combination of sour and sweet artificial orange. Pretty uninteresint stuff.
