New England Bucket List Trip #218. Keg at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a large foamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral hops, caramel, toasted malt. The taste is caramel, raisin, toasted malt, floral hops. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear reddish amber body with a tight bubbled beige head. The nose is toasty and dry malt with a gentle hopping and a bit of crystal. The flavor has just a bit of crystal malt sweetness that doesn’t play well with me, but there’s still sufficient toasted malt character to relay that it’s an Irish Red. Gentle bitterness that lets the malt shine. Light bodied with a soft fizzy carbonation level. Decent beer, but a style that tends not to excite.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a red-orange color with a large foamy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was a bit sour and tangy with a hint of caramel, vague dark fruits and a touch of pepper. The flavor was malty, nutty, and had a toasted caramel presence with hints of banana and pepper. The finish was long and tangy with caramel, pepper and nut lingering. Medium body. Ok.
