Had this one to start the night at the Hintonburg Public House with a group of friends - a strong, but easy to drink beer that is guaranteed to lead to a great night! Hoppy, but smooth, with light carbonation. Really enjoyed the citrus notes, both in aroma and taste. Reimer96 (1778) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 17, 2015
Pours a hazy copperish amber with a frothy white head. Aroma of spicy rye malts, floral hops, grapefruit, tropical fruits, passionfruit, guava and some sweet pale malts. Taste is grapefruit hops, spicy rye malts, light pine and tropical hop flavors on the finish with a smooth balanced bitterness throughout along with the rye spiciness. Best rye ipa I’ve had to date. UPDATED: DEC 4, 2012 Pours a clear, coppery orange with a thin, pure white head of creamy foam. Nice lacing with short retention. Immediate and strong aroma of grapefruit, followed by other citrus fruits and herbal hops. Taste is a great balance between citrusy hops and the unique taste of malted rye. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel with a short floral hoppy aftertaste. A very nice and unique IPA. Next... the Imperial Super Rye Guy! I’m anticipating greatness! 473 ml can, purchased at the brewery, with a hazy orange golden hue with a thick fluffy white head, with a nice mild floral citrus, leafy, grassy hoppy nose, with some zesty lemon, grapefruit peel, lemon pie, a faint lemon tea leaf, fruity yeast accents, and a lemon marmalade, lemon pie crust notes. Follows through a medium bodied palate with a good fruity, yeasty, flowery citrus, leafy, grassy, hoppy character. With some lemon, grapefruit rind, lemon pie crust, faint panettone cake dough, mild honeyed rye, pale, carapils malt, a lemon marmalade, subtile candy-ish lemon lollipop flavours leading towards a fruity yeastiness lingering citrus leafy hop bitterness finish. Magnifique.

On tap @ Absinthe Ottawa. Pours a light amber with a thick but small white head. Aroma is sweet pineapple and piny resin. Taste is subtle sweet pineapple, dominant citrus (grapefruit), and pine resin. Rich, creamy mouthfeel with a mid-range lingering bitter finish. Nice IPA. WilderPegasus (37) - - JAN 12, 2013
Great smell with all the usual American IPA aromas. Hazy golden colour with a tall thin head that dissipates quickly. Could use more carbonation but has solid citrus and pine flavours with a rye backbone. Gluepot (756) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 8, 2014
spiced rye and fruit in the nose. A medium-thin head with lacing. Very tasty rye IPA featuring grapefruit and lemon in the hops, a touch of pepper and other spices and the added punch of partial replacement of barley with rye. Really nice balance in the hops, with a little bite on top of the fruity aspects. Randy4Beer (515) - - MAY 31, 2014
Unfiltered dark gold with a white head leaving medium lacing. Light steady carbonation.
Light citrus on the nose.
Citrus with light malt and a tinge of caramel on the back of the tongue.
Very drinkable IPA in the nice summer weather.
