On tap at the Thirsty Monk (AVL). ASBC barrel version Hazy amber body with a markedly thick and durable head. Mildly funky and fruity aroma; moderately spicy. Very complex flavor. Medium-high tartness; mild bitterness; apricots; subtle effects of barrel aging. Funk makes it slightly challenging. Excellent soft carbonation. Draft at Churchkey. Hazy deep golden amber color, small tan head. Aroma has vinous dark fruit, apple, vanilla. Taste is softly sour stone fruit, vanilla, light spice. Totally different than the base beer with much less funkiness but increased richness and vinousness, if that’s a word. It is now. conway (2210) - - MAY 3, 2014
Draft. Hazy dark gold with a solid white head. Aroma is lactic with apples, a little barnyard and oak. Taste amplifies the components from the aroma and adds some acetone and roasted spelt. Mouthfeel is rich with moderate carb. Very intense. John25 (1291) - Middletown, New Jersey, USA - MAR 30, 2014
Draft at maloney's. Pours cloudy, light burnt orange/ruby color. The aroma is full of barrel, funky sourness, and apples. The taste follows suit with more oak and fruit notes. Perfect sour balance between attack and crisp drinkability. Excellent mouthfeel - tart, sour, medium carb, semi-rich, clean. Awesome

Draft. This beer takes on an immense amount of sweetness and vanilla from the barrel. Still tart but a much different beast.

Wow! On tap for the Pourhouse Anniversary. Aroma is super funky. Gym socks, band aid, leather, citrus, and some nice oak. Pours opaque blond with a small frothy head. Taste was tart lemon up front with strong barnyard and cheese funk behind it. A nice leathery gueuze quality to this. This is one masterfully pungeant beer! agl108 (1281) - Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 13, 2014
On draft at Tria Taproom. Poured hazy gold with sheets of lace. Tart nose. Flavor is green apple, tart berries, yeast. Medium bodied. Geuze like. Outstanding stuff! Jow (3998) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Tapmat Gingerman. Pours orange with white head. Nose if huge fruity and vinous notes. Tastes tart with berries, wine, light whiskey sweetness, vanilla, and some pepper. Touch sweet finish but lively and fun. radagast83 (8221) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 27, 2014
On draft at Churchkey during their Sour Session volume 9 event. Poured a cloudy ruby cola color with a small off-white head. Aroma was notes of barrel, wine notes, dark fruits, light booze. Flavor was oak notes, some vanilla, dark fruits. Easy to drink with lower ABV, which was appreciative. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 26, 2014
Draft at Churchkey. Cloudy gumwood colored pour, small fizzy head. Nose and flavor hold gigantic barrel character, with vinous fruit and apple components from the calvados mixing with the classic BFM plum funk. Lovely to have it at the lower alcohol, though even still it’s rather unbalanced. I certainly enjoy it, but wouldn’t want more than a few ounces.
