Cask, ushers (really ushers? 2004? you sure?). Pours medium dark Ruby and medium opaque with a gorgeous brown foam subsiding to a ring of foam. Scent is fairly standard bon Chien but this is mild and has slight hints of dirty diaper. Taste is awesome sweet and sour and finish is gorgeous dry and sour properties residing for hours. Tiny bit sticky. Excellent. alexsdad06 (10589) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Draft intossnifter from backlog notes. Pours a murky brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel malt, sour cherries, wood, big vinous character from the wine barrels, tart, perhaps a slight acidity, hides the abv nicely, consumed quite a few years after it was made, still tasty. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Draft @ Sergio’s. Reddish amber with a small off white head. Aroma of cherries, vinegar, oak and funky Belgian yeast. Flavor is not as sour as the aroma would dictate, lots of dark dried fruits, toffee, spicy, light tartness and no alcohol. Medium body with a dry mouth feel. Really nice beer, it has aged well with virtually no oxidization. Scopey (15268) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2012
Tap at Beer Rev, Oakland. It pours a red grapefruit colour, with a thin bubbly off-white head. The nose is strawberry, cherry, green apple, malt vinegar, jam, lemon and wood. The taste is tart granny smith apple, white grape, lemon, cherry, strawberry, malt vinegar, lime pith and wood, with a juicy-tart finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Great balance. Absolutely delicious. bb (9695) - Alamo, California, USA - FEB 23, 2012
Draft. Copper colored beer with a low cream colored head. Tart/acetic/sour aroma with cherries. Acetic and malt flavor with cherries and some sourness. Medium bodied. Cherry and sour/acetic notes linger with earthiness and malt.

I was shocked to see this on tap coming from a super cool wooden keg at Beer Revolution. It pours a deep reddish orange color with a tall off white head. The aroma is nice with some berries, funk, a little sherry and wood. The flavor is mellow tart with a bit of sweet and sour, fruit and a nice level of funk. There’s some light vinous notes, but not an overwhelming barrel character nor much acetic acid. The sweeter sherry flavors remind me this is quite an old beer, but it manages to balance the funky sour flavors well. I agree with most of the others on here that it hides the high abv VERY well! Overall, this was a nice mild easy drinking sour with enough depth to keep me happy. jkwood04 (5452) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 30, 2011
On tap in a snifter. Pours cloudy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of sweet tarts, a lot of white wine and light fruits, sourness, and light hops. The flavor has a lot of complexity. Texture like champagne. A really good sour. Tmoney99 (14764) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Draft in snifter. Poured a hazy copper brown with an average frothy light brown head that was fully lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy tannic grape, wood, alcohol and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Full complex sweet&sour flavor with the same long finish with a very small alcohol tone. Great well balanced brew.

DRAFT pours dark hazy red with decent retention. Aroma is sweet malt vinegar, caramel, brett barnyard funk, lactic sourness, cherries, red wine tannin, mustiness, some pie notes developing. Taste is vinuous musty French red wine, dry Chardonnay complexity, caramel malt vinegar, brettanomyces, cherries. Not even a hint of a hint of 10%+ abv. Body is light, highly frothy, active carbonation, funky musty dry finish. Endlessly complex and ingenious brew Overall, you don’t get the opportunity to try a 7 year old masterpiece like this every day... . Even less often is the occasion you get to drink this beer and the bartender forgets to charge you $9 for the glass, which is what happened to me! This is one of the best beers I’ve ever had and by far the best old sour I’ve had yet. Hair6a11 (1481) - Illinois, USA - NOV 26, 2011
