Draft to taster. Looks solid; a murky brownish-orange with hardly any carbonation or lacing. Smells good; sweet and funky. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced. Average (at best) on the palate. Another flatty from BFM. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2013
On tap. Hazy darker red / brown color. Minimal bubbly white head, some dots of lace. Awesome tart nose - wood and fermented fruit. Pretty much totally flat. Medium / bigger body. More dry finish. Very nice moderate tart taste. 11.2% alcohol is not noticeable. Some white grape in flavor, musty tart wood and fruit, maybe some veggie flavors. Tasty sour. hopscotch (11181) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours murky and caramel-colored with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. The complex, multi-layered aroma is both an earthy and fruity intermingling of leather, straw, grape SweeTarts, caramel, sour cherries, purple grapes and black currants. Full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor tilts toward the fruity-tart and caramely-sweet sides of balance, but also delivers a modest measure of bready, crusty bitterness. Finishes tangy with a moderate kiss of caramel. World class brew!

Draft. Pours clear, dark ruby. Little to no head. Aroma is tart, juicy fruits. Taste is a perfect amount of pucker and dry tartness. Very well-rounded. A great example of the style. Nothing outrageous but definitely above-average. bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - DEC 7, 2012

durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Draft pour from the Paradiso at Dupont Circle. Pours deep reddish brown with nary a bubble. Nose is tart, with notes of oak, dark malts, tannins, vanilla, cherries, and acetic notes almost but not quite getting to the level of fingernail polish. Taste is both sweet and tart, with a dry finish. Surprisingly smooth for 11%. kindacold (235) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - NOV 28, 2012
Pours reddish brown, no head. Smells sweet, sour, and funky. Sweet a bit like an orange, sour like lemon and vinegar, and almost a cheese like funk. So delicious. Finishes clean and crisp. keepersj12 (3137) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Hazy brown with a red tint, thin head. The aroma is sour and funky. The taste is sour and funky, a hint of fruity sweetness to balance the sour. Very dry and refreshing. mcmd (315) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Pours hazy amber red with a decent off-white head. Aroma is tart fruit, grape juice, vinegar, oak, funk. Taste is initially sweet fruit and oak with vinegar and the perfect amount of tart funk hitting later and lasting nicely in the finish. Perfectly balanced and easy drinking with alcohol well-hidden. great beer, got better as it sat open awhile. Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - NOV 18, 2012
Bottled 750ml. Complex, deeply delicious and dangerously drinkable. Quite similar to the past vintages.
