On draught at Apex. Deep red color. Aroma of funk, sour cherry and grape. Prickly tartness with cherry, currant, and earthiness. Lingering sweet and sour finish.

2015-05-28, bottle from Au Grain d'Orge, Crissier, 4 years old, 8-7-8-4-16=40
The wood nose is very evident, almost mellow, then followed by a vinous character, hints of balsamic vinegar. Very smooth; sour with grace; quite strong vinegar character but not acetone, vinous and fruity to add pleasure and complexity, a bit astringent in the end, where the alcohol also appears.
Excellent beer, and no siggns of age obviously.

bottle from Au Grain d'Orge, Crissier
From an undisturbed bottle it pours a hazy dark red-amber color, with small compact head, lasting longer than usual. The aroma is deep, intense, spreading in the room; it's vinous, woody, mildly sour, with notes of nuts; very light acetone in the end.
Full bodied, the mouthfeel is very smooth; malt flavor, with moderate residual sweetness, and a lovely accent of grapes and wine (muscatel like); fruity, with some wood and therefore light astringency; some berries too appear in the final.
Excellent beer. Once more. Fresh and dynamic.
Note: my bottle too has 00276 on it, so probably it's not the bottle number ;-)

Nov. 2012 On draft at Churchkey in D.C. The beer is dark ruby to auburn in color with a small, bubbly head. The aroma is bold and complex, offering booze, grapes, oak, funk, lacto and acetic presence, bourbon, tart fruit, syrup. Wow. The flavor is assertive and complex. The grappa seems to come through more than the other barrels. The beer leads off with an alcoholic sweetness and prominent liquor, then finishes with a tart and sour combo. Cherry presence, even cherry cough syrup, in the best possible way. This beer runs the gamut of flavor profiles. Sticky and palate coating. A beer to sip and savor. I could have sipped this all night, but alas, one snifter was all I could manage on this occasion. I would definitely have / buy this again. Recommended.

[email protected] Hazy orangeish colour, small white head. Aroma is tart wood, some yeast, caramel and some spices. Flavour is very similar. And strangely enough it seems infected sour to me in the flavour.

Aroma has vinegar, sour cherries and earthy notes. Flavour is quite tart with wood, oaky notes, currant juice and currants. Too much juice here.

Bottle at Watering Hole, Yoyogi. Cloudy red/brown - offwhite edges. Aroma of metal and some overfermented fruits. Nice sourish. Coconut. Fruity. Red berries. Rubber. Light bitterness. Sparkling notes. Nice.

BiddleBrau (1238) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 16, 2013
On tap at Memphis taproom. Murky wood brown with decent head. Sour oaky nose. Milder sour profile candy sweetness fuller palate, definitely a twist on the style. Not quite as clean as others I’ve had.
