Impressionat. Top five de les birres. Busqueu-la. tykechandler (343) - Kentucky, USA - FEB 1, 2015

DATE TASTED: August 8, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Chimay goblet... OCCASION: celebrating birthday #37 in style... APPEARANCE: dense, dark amber-brown body with a single-finger froth that settles swiftly to a ring around an island of softened cirrus... AROMA: incredible red wine waft--especially merlot--takes the nostrils by force; secondary fragrant hops with bubblegum yeasts make this an alluring beer to hover over...a bit of cherries and some plum too...complex......PALATE: incredibly dry, warm, full-bodied mouthfeel--definitely worth a chalice and an evening; three sips to thirty sips, just as easy drinking...TASTE: sour but comfortably palatable; deliciously reminiscent of merlot, with a yeasty component that conflates the grape and rounds it... OVERALL: As farmhouse ales go, this is one beauty that made me buy a Saison Dupont on my last shopping trip, if only because the style, when done well, is inimitable; powerful, delectable, alcoholic but sensible in its balance; bought on a whim, this exceeded my expectations... Red amber body with golden reflections; cloudy to opaque; big bubbles and and not lasting foam. Aroma of candied cherry, strawberry, raspberry; vinous perfume, alcohol like brandy; very very apetizing. Full sourness mixed with roundness; oily; not very much lasting but much body; intense taste of fruit : strawberry, prune; woody and lightly astringent; woody bitterness that progressively develops. Very easy to drink despite its high ABV. Very nice with fourme de Montbrison, lamb, and chocolate too. And splendid by itself, actually.

been wanting to try one of these for a while // finally I would say // 25 cl. draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic // very dark pomegranate, off-white head, neat appearance // smell is rich sour jam, berries, fruit liquer, both s & t have an element to me that oddly for me feels like a sour La Trappe O.A. 3, vinegar, wood // taste is round, soft, jammy straight lime, strawberry jam, berry jam, quite heavy on the strawberries. vinegar, wood, almost spirit like in the ending, sourness sinks in, malty // jammy body // yeah Travlr (24656) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 30, 2012
Draft. In Kansas City. No shit. Hazy ruby maroon color, thick tan head, good retention, solid lacing. Aroma of sour prunes, dates, plums. Taste is sour summer and winter fruit, raisins, dates, figs. Amazing. zizzybalubba (1867) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JAN 19, 2013
On tap during the 43 Hours of Dark at The Birch, Norfolk, VA. Reddish-brown pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sour cherry, apple cider vinegar, and oak. Beautiful sour taste of tart cherry and oak. Hard to believe this is an 11.2% ABV beer as the alcohol is not detected. An awesome sour. anstei (2246) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - MAY 28, 2017
Bottle, courtesy of DerA. Pours almost flat cloudy rusty amber. Aroma is light vinegar, light acetone, wine, barrel. Body is heavy, sour and acidic, vinegar, rusty, vineous, grapes, boozy, intense. Maltier than younger ones, and not as sour. Palate is long, strongly vineous, light booze, dried fruit. Great balance. Outstanding! sir__v (2629) - FRANCE - NOV 2, 2012
