Serving: Growler from State Line Liquors. It pours a cloudy red color with no head. Sour cherry nose. Tart cherry, grape skins, and a hint of cider vinegar flavor with a touch of funk and a slight frontal sweetness. The high abv is completely hidden. Solid brew.

have always said the Bon Chien beers are better fresh, i mean they do age well, but having this on tap really shows how nice this stuff is without a lot of age .. . cherry skin and raging clue .. . no dirt, just mild tang .. . very good .. . had a full glass at the Nobi thanksgiving party, only customer there, good times! .. . . The bandage was wound around the wound.

Tap at Armsby Abbey, good stuff, deep garnet pour with mostly no head, taste is plenty of wood and drying sourness, pinches your mouth with tartness, and big ABV at 11% really packs some heat.

Pours a nice light red with a thin head that receeds into a small rim but still leave nice and joyous white speckles on the glass walls. Aroma is loaded with vinegar, wood, sour fruits and alcohol. Reminescent of a nice sour brown/red. Taste is tart but not too much with some vinegar character but less than the nose would suggest. There is also a light sweetness to it. Flavors are fruity and woody. Body is medium, carbonation maybe a touch high. Mouthfeel is vinous, alcohol shows quite a bit but it isn’t disturbing. It does warm you plenty, though. Really nice!

Bottle. Pours a deep amber slightly hazy body with a medium off-white creamy head. Nose is oak, vanilla, mild balsamic, apple vinegar, dark malts and hints of lactic sourness and straw. Taste is mild apple vinegar and balsamic, wood, lactic acidity and hints of caramel and grains in the back. Medium body, high carbonation. Very smooth and enjoyable sour ale; this could be in the Flemish Red category.

On tap at the Blind Tiger for VSK. Pours a hazed amber with ruby highlights and no head. Big sour notes on a bit of wood, fruit leather Medium bodied, sweet and full of acid. Lightly acetic, sweet fruit. Lingering acid with a but of alcohol.

Pours red with some sticky frothy head that laces. Nose is amazingly tart, funky, oak, caramel, stone fruits, berries, spur cherries, vanilla. Flavor is tart but sweeter. Lack some of the awesome shit the nose has. Sticky texture, full bodied, and slightly warming. Pretty nice but aroma was far superior.

Draft @ ML Fontainas.

Bottle shared at Øltorget Mathallen, november 19th 2013. A Swizz sour, of course we have to try it! Deep red body, small white head. Aroma of pale malt, cherries, apricot, grass. Funky taste of berries and barnyard, with a sweet malt presence showing up, caramel and toffee, to be honest it ends very sweet, like the beer keeps forgetting its sour elements, pretty strange, it is a good beer by all accounts, but I’d like the sweetness at the end a bit toned down. But it’s probably me not being used to sour biere de gardes, after all it was a very enjoable drink.
