Umeboshi aroma, bitter caramel. Pulpy plum flavor, liquor, oak, strong sour finish. Not my usual drink but a very well-crafted brew.

Tasted at tap on 04/06/2014. Clear red brown colour with a big off white head. Aroma is sugar with dark and red fruits. Taste is high acid with red fruites, peaches and apples. Alcohol is high but well integrated in the taste. Taste is very intensive and, in my opinion, well balanced. Next one please!

shared @ DE-CH-F-TriStateTasting, with special thanks to Embrouille! Nose: hints of white grapes, vinegar, oak, raspberries, taste has a pineapple-like touch, very surprising, also a very balanced beer, never could have guessed the abv.

37,5 cl bottle courtesy of [email protected] Freiburg Tri-state tasting, merci vielmals! Nice label, that does not even need to feature that self-aggrandising NYTimes accolade so prominently. A crema of sherry, oak and oud bruin balsamics compose a very inviting nose. Taste is smooth, with a layered depth to old fruits provided by a strong oak component: dry, thankfully not as laden with lactic-fructose as some oud bruin examples as Rodenbach Grand Cru. Well-balanced and immensely drinkable CH sour.

Bottle 37,5cl @ 1st RB DE-CH-F Tasting. An cloudy amber red beer with good head. Nose is exceptional with oak, caramel, vinegar and red fruits notes. Aroma is on apricot, wood, vinegar notes , tart, lactic, over ripped apple, relative astringency, very complex. Alcohol is still well hidden; very nice.

Clear brown colour, white head. Sour flavour, citrus, lactic acid, wine, sour apple, pear, quite fruity.Rather sour flavour, tart berries, funk, wood notes, gooseberries, light white wine. Tart finish, citrus, hint of wood. Nice!

Nocturne (1951) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. Vivid shade of red. Smells malty and very vinous. Tastes of sticky, jam-like fruit, hedgerow fruit I’d say. Light vinegar. Fair bit of heat kicking through it all. Quite fascinating and unique, but would prefer it less hot.

On tap @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas during St-Bon-Chien World Tour. Side by side with the 2011 version. Hazy amber/orange with a huge of off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is winey with red fruits, light caramel, oak, light alcohol and light vinegar. Taste is moderately acidic with winey notes, red fruits and oak. Alcohol is very well hidden in the taste. Medium to full body. Low/moderate carbonation. Winey mouthfeel. Fruitier and more balanced than the 2011 version, but a little less tasty (but still very tasty). I think this one will age gracefully.

Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - MAY 5, 2014
Poured from tap to glass. Hazy brown hue with white head that immediately dissipates. Aroma is honey, lactic, acetic, straw. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and low carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness with acidic sourness and an ethanol finish. Overall this is a great brew.
